My 6yo was complaining that he was bored. I told him he had too much computer and tv time yesterday so he had to find something else to do.
"Like what?"
We settled on fingerpainting.
He and his sister knocked out a few pics they're going to give as gifts and then made some giftwrap out of brown paper bags.
When they decided they were done painting the whining started up again.

I offered "You can play with your toys, clean your room, make your bed, or if you want to help me you can scrub the tub with baking soda."

I did not expect the results I got.

My 6yo son is scrubbing the tub right now while his 3yo sister scrubs the sink. I just had to share it with somebody!
Ok now back to work for me too

HaHa, kids love to clean when not expected of them. Send them over to my house! We had our Christmas tree up from the basement but I wasn't ready I start decorating yet. While I was in another room folding clothes they took it upon themselves to get the box of ornaments and decorate it themselves even getting a step stool o do the top half. Thanks for the idea of fingerpainting bags as gift wrap. My kids would love to do that.
