OK, so I never get mad or frustrated by now I am and need to vent, we are about to start a cookie dough FR and our sister elementary school pta called screaming at my wife because they're starting it on the same day and its not fair to them if we run also. If they would have just asked nicely, I would have changed dates, I called the cookie dough company schoolhouse resources, and they said no problem, but I kind of dont want to because they were so rude about it. How dare they scream at my wife. What should I do?

Since yours is already scheduled and they were not nice, I would keep my date and tough noogies on them!

I would also suggest that you ask them nicely for next years presidents name and ask if you guys could sit down mid summer and discuss both your fundraising plans for the new year so you don't end up competing with one another. It is hard for them to be nasty when you are offering to make it so it doesn't happen again. Also, this way you are putting the thought out there that they didn't consult you either

Hi there, boy can I understand your frustration. We have been doing the cookie dough fr for years. If differs greatly from the girl scout cookie thing, where it is by territory and sellling in stores, banks, etc. Most people that by the cookie dough are to parents in the school and maybe relatives, but it doesn't thrive on door to door sales, or selling it in front of stores.
I don't think either school will suffer any sales from the other.

So I called the person that called us and nicely told her that our days are already booked to start and that maybe we can get together over the summer to make arrangments so that we wont have a scheduling problem and do you know what she told me? No...Now she says she will go to the principal and call up my company to change the date herself. How Rude!!!!

I would make sure to speak to my rep and have the dates frozen so she cannot do that. I would then contact HER principal and explain the problem and the bad publicity she is giving the school.

I would also explain that to your principal how changing the dates will affect assemblies and so forth and your principal will probably tell her to jump in a lake.

Thanks for the support, my wife and I both feel better now. I contacted my rep and froze the dates, she said that they will never cancel or change dates unless spoken to the person who signed the contract which is my wife, and she knows my wifes voice. So I'm happy. I just dont want future problems. I hope the dust clears eventually.
