bursting diapers
Has anyone else ever had this happen to them? Some mornings we have a diaper that is so full that it burst and gets these little jelly like things all over! It usually only happens to Nicholas for some reason (he is my biggest). I called Pampers (using Cruisers) and they suggested using a one-size-up diaper for night - which we do already! He wears 4s and we put him in a 5 at night. She then suggested that we don't give him anything to drink for 1 1/2 to 2 hours before bed and change him right before bed. Well, this is screwing with our bedtime routine, so I'm not sure what to do. Just wondered if I am alone in this or has anyone else ever had an issue? Any ideas? TIA.

DS was like that because he was so big for his age that he just went more than the average child wearing that size. I use to put 2 diapers on! Yes it sounds uncomfortable but it really didn't bother him at all. I would put 1 of his regular size and 1 a size larger. I don't know how big your DS is but when DS was big enough I used the Easy ups to put over the diaper instead of anoher diaper (just less bunchy) Easy Ups (IMHO) are better than Pull Ups because the absorb more like a diaper. If the easy ups are to large they make smaller ones.. Ummmm First Steps I think they are called (They didn't have those when DS was a baby) HTH Edit: This did solve my problem about the gel things all over him. I think the second one absorbed all that might have leaked out so less was trying to be absorbed by diaper 1. If #2 was dry the next day I just used it the next night. I also had them tell me that BS about a larger size and don't let him drink... Yea right! Last edited by HollyHobby; 02-10-2005 at 09:15 AM. |

We had that problem for awhile... but going up a size worked for us.

There's also something available called a diaper doubler - I've seen them around here at Food Lion & other places. They're basically a big maxi-pad you stick in the diaper. If you go with these, watch for a rash - Jake has a sensitive butt & somehow they gave him one - don't know what it was about them - they're unscented...but I did like them for overnight! Come to think of it, maybe you could try sticking a serenity pad in the diaper or something!

When my guys were little Huggies (?) made an overnight diaper. That worked for us.

Thanks guys for all your suggestions - I'm going to have to look for those overnite things and see if that makes a difference. Too bad Pampers. ![]() ![]() |
