| Pregnant, and have food issues...
I know, everyone has issues with food when they're pregnant. I had it with my first one, and I'm having it now. However, this time around it is extreme. I'll want one food and 30 minutes later the mere thought of it, makes me feel like I want to throw up. As you can imagine, this makes planning my day, food wise, VERY hard. I have to eat frequent and small meals, otherwise I get queasy... And about 99% of what we have in the house, I don't want to eat. So! For you other ladies, who have had one or more pregnancies behind you, how did you deal with your funny food cravings? Got any suggestions for me? Right now, I want salmon sushi... Which isn't going to be on the menu until waaay after I give birth.

Lilblossom, Be patient this too will pass. Focus on small meals like you said, and take your vitamins! Otherwise, try to have alot of healthy foods on hand and eat small portions whenever you are hungry.

crackers, cliche as it sounds always helped me. Peppermint candies too. Peanut butter crackers, pasta w/o meat, pizza w/o meat Starch w/o a lot of meat. (take your vitamins, you need the iron esp.) Couldn't handle meat for a few months, ate a lot of fish, peanut butter, and beans.

Thanks for the kind words and support. I've had a think about it, and I may cut down on my meat intake and try to eat more fish. Also, vegetables seem to not upset my senses as much. We're supposed to have roast chicken for dinner, but honestly, the idea of it makes me want to... y'know... However, I'll make it, since our 17 month old REALLY loves dinnertime... I'll just stick with the rice pilaf.

I didn't have any real problems with food...but I think that you might need to start your own "stash" of "safe" foods so that if you do make dinner and then change your mind- you'll at least have something to "go to" that won't be gone/eaten by the others in your house. Good Luck!

I know I'm horrible...but I never felt too bad about eating sushi when preggo. Then again, I also changed litter boxes , picked up slightly heavy things , and love wearing maternity clothes!! ![]() Honestly, I never had much problem with NOT wanting anything to eat...Just wanted to eat EVERYTHING!

I had morning ALL day sickness with my 2nd so bad I had to go to the hospital ): I was sick from week 7 till about my 17th week, THEN the acid reflux set in soooooo bad!! ALL I ate was cooked chicken breasts NO SPICES on a sub bun with a little mayo. I ate Coke slushies every day......crackers didn't help, I did go through a stage where fourtune cookies were AWESOME.... With my 3rd, I had it pretty bad again but not as bad- I just ate carbs constantly and the plain chicken again.....It is REALLY hard to get through when that is happening.....I was going to get my tubes tied at one point with my 2nd just so I NEVER had to feel like that again!! good luck

I would try the wintergreen lifesavers. They are the only thing in all three of my pregnancies that has helped even a little with the nausea. As far as what to eat, I just keep a huge variety of foods in my house, that way there is always something that sounds good. Hang in there!

I had major food issues with my second also, the thought of cooking chicken made me throw-up for the first trimester. And I couldn't make my mind up as to what I wanted to eat, usually by the time I made something I didn't want it anymore. Hang in there this too shall pass, if I got too bad I would grab a couple of crackers or some dry cheerios. Other than that cook what you were planning for your family and try to eat some.

I was a lot like gasper. Very sick the whole time with my first one and the first 4 months with the other 3. I used to snack on dry cereal and crackers throughout the day. Mashed potatoes were okay as well. Try to watch your nutrition and make sure you get enough protein. If you are trying to get in your fruits/veg and protein servings, there wont be any room for junk food .

Try candied ginger aka crystalized ginger....suck on it, add it to tea, add it to 7-up. I worked in a VA nursing facility when I was prego with the twins-try changing adult diapers your first trimester with Morning sickness...the ginger got me through it. You can get it at health food stores and some grocery stores also used Tazo green tea with ginger(it was on clearance at my Target today) Also smoothies made with papaya or papaya nectar (there is an enzyme that helps in it) lowfat yogurt- frozen, ice,and a little OJ. My OB doctor told me to drink these all day, it really helped for me.

I had MAJOR problems with my second pregnancy! I found french fries or a baked potato, either plain or with a little butter or salsa, was the only thing that I didn't get sick over! I ate a lot of carbs for the first half of the pregnancy! I also drank a lot of slushies!!
