| Diaper Rash Tips?
My daughter has had diaper rash for a week now. I have tried Desitin with 40% of the main ingredient, baby powder, and corn starch. She had also ran around naked for half a day peeing on the floor. Does anyone know how I can get rid of it? It's been a while since I have had to deal with diaper rash. I have not changed her diaper brand and I have not changed her detergent or soap. It could be her diet but if it is I don't know what. |

It's probably gone fungal & you need to use athlete's foot or jock itch cream on it - will clear it right up. Happened to my guys all the time.

A&D ointment always worked for me.

I agree with Ladywine! Go to the store and get an offbrand form of Lotrimen (sp?). This also works great with starts of yeast infections in girls.

I also agree......anti-fungal creams are great...Ashton had a horrible rash last week and that is what exactly the dr told lacie to get.

Glad it worked. Usually does when desitin doesn't. Another favorite of mine is Bailey's Butt Balm. Has to be made but works wonders.(Zinc, Aquaphor, Domboro)

Yeah, angie, the butt balm is way better than desitin...on the other hand, my guys "went fungal" so often, I usually just skipped it...want a desitin RAOK? We're potty trained now :pengjump:

We looked at all the different products at Target. Didn't see butt balm. The Desitins' have different percentages of the main ingredient (cant remember the name). We just thought that the more percentage the better. 40% was the highest percentage. Guess that doesn't matter if it don't work. This is the first rash she has had and my other girls never got one this bad. I am almost out of diapers again so maybe I should get her to pottytraining today so we don't have to worry about diaper rashes!

Boudreaux's Butt Paste is a favorite here....one of the older ladies at our church gives every new mom a huge tube of it. For really bad ones....I would do a mixture of 1/2 Boudreaux's and 1/2 Lotrimin. It always happened when DS's were on Antibiotics......they (antibiotics) will mess with your natural flora as well as the bad bugs too. |

We're Boudreaux's Butt Paste fans too! Lanah rarely gets rashes but when she does, this clears it up within 2-3 hours! |

Also, you'd be surprised what all natural aloe will do. It is, after all, amonnia burn. And we all know that aloe treats burns. Believe me, it really does work. If you don't already have an aloe plant, Get one and give it a try next time. Good luck!!
