OMG, I got the chills after seeing those pictures. WTH, why didn't they call you as soon as this happened, were not talking one bruise here. Definitely push this as far as you can. Bless his heart.

It's been almost one year and I just received notice that the state is finally revoking this day care provider's license. Now she won't be able to have this happen to someone else's child. I can't believe they let her continue to operate for so long.

I was way beyond angry!! He's still got some marks that we think won't be going away any time soon. They mostly only show up when his face is exposed to the cold. Still, it's good to see some kind of justice done.

Goodness, I am glad she got shut down. I hope you pursued the civil suit that way at least another insurance carrier for any type of business she may try to open will not touch her with a 10 ft pole!

The lawyer for the civil suit wanted to wait until the licensing bureau made their decision. I'll phone him on Monday to give him the information so he can move forward with the civil case.

This is the first time i have seen this thread. Wow I am so sorry you had to go through this with your precious happy little guy. I would have been livid and I would have called the police right there. I saw those pictures and I was horrified. I can't believe that she was able to continue watching kids for almost a year. I would have gone to the tv station and exposed her. Because it would leave me wondering how many other children has this happened to and not reported. I know kids are going to bite at this age but wow that was way to far. Curious How is the civil suit going? |

I have been in the daycare business for over 20 years and these do look like bite marks, and yes kids will go through that but, this is just a little to excesive.First off I would have called you when the bruise was that dark to ask if you wanted to see it. I would have called the other kids parents and asked that they be removed permantly. It appears that the child was not in the room with her.It makes you wonder if he was in a playpen with another and she was not watching him to get this many bites at one time. I never let more than one child in a playpen at a time.I think the daycare is not telling the truth about a toy being between the baby and the other boys. You did all the right things. The next time I would ask for previous children that have been in her care also.So sorry this happened to your baby and you.

I am seeing this for the first time too. OMG! I am horrified. I am so glad you are finally seeing justice. I am so glad your son is okay with nothing permanent. That is awful they would have tried to cover that up.

I too am seeing this for the first time and I am in tears!!!! AS a former childcare provider I know that a bite can happen but she had to have been out of the room FOREVER for that to occur. That is sickening to look at, I cant even imagine not getting a call about it and showing up to find my child in such a terrible state. I would have kicked the **** outta her! Seriously I am guessing the only thing that stopped you was that your attention was on getting that little guy to the hospital. Keep us posted on what happens in the civil suit, and I am sick that it took a year to close this daycare...shame on them! Hugs for you and your little man.... |

Wow I'm so sorry. I'm glad you're following up and filing a report. That it is severe. I'm going through the same thing right now but to a much lesser degree. It's a case of the providers not watching the children well enough. I have made a lot of noise about it and they seem to be worried and watching my girl's better. I can't afford to move them immediately but they only have 2 more weeks here. Trusting your children to someone else basically sucks. |

I had no idea what bite marks actually looked like and was horrified when I saw your little guy. He was just a few months older than my fella. I am so sorry that he had to go thru that. I am glad they shut her down. What a scary thing to have to deal with. My heart goes out to you.

The thing that gets me is why did it take a year for her to get shut down. I mean I am really wondering how many other children had to get hurt before they decided to shut her down.

This is also my first time seeing this thread.. omg. A year? I'm just glad she DID get shut down. and that was not a "bite" that was repeated biting and an attack.. your poor baby and I couldn't even imagine how much control you must have had not to beat this ladys butt. I would have had the VERY strong desire to bite HER. I hope she gets nailed with your civil case.
