I am so behind on the Christmas shopping this year that it's not even funny. My boys who are 3 and 5 I should be able to figure out as I"m in the stores but my daughter who is 8 i have no idea what to get her. She is really getting out of the toys phase but I just don't know. Does anyone have any sort of suggestions?

Would she like some kind of crafty thing, like a kit to make jewelry or something like that? Of course, she will have to keep it away from the 3 yr old. . .

Or maybe some books or a set of books that you think she would like? There are lots of books out there for girls her age.

At about that age my DDs 'big' present for Christmas was a portable DVD player. It was a few years ago, though (she's 13 now) and they weren't as common, so you may already have one. DD also really liked craft stuff, beads, nail stuff, etc. at that age.

cooking or cake decorating supplies - use Michael's 40% off coupons. Good art supplies, a nice journal that you could write back and forth to each other. Is she into Webkinz? You could get her a gift certificate to a store and let her buy some accessories. My girls are 7 and 8. Also, they have a collector's nativity scene that we buy them each a piece for each year. It's Fontanini. They will have a nice set by the time they are grown and move out.

She does like craft things but already has several bead kits. Seemed like for an entire year almost every gift she got from peole for holidays or birthday has at least 1 bead kit to it.

My 9 yr old has asked for 2 years now....school stuff so she can write. Paper, folders. I got her a bunch of stationery type stuff. I don't know if she watches T.V. or not but there's always High School Musical and Hannah Montana stuff. I am thinking High School stuff more so than Hannah. She also always asks for make up so will be getting lip glosses but that's about as far as I take it. LOL
