You know the ones i am talking about from mcdonalds etc.... I have a toy bin storage thing but i just hate the way it always looks messy. Do you just toss alot of them i also have little people all over

DS has one of those crate/yaffa block looking storage things in his closet (cheap from Target!) I put larger toys (cars, trucks, etc. ) in some of the squares and have 3 baskets that sit on top and hold his smaller toys (match box cars, little figurines, McD toys, etc.)

Some people use the baby wipe boxes to store small toys in too.

I am very very anal when it comes to storing toys. Everything has to have a place fo rthem and they can't be mixed and matched together. So with that said I have one of those storage shelves that have the bins in them. There are 9 different bins and 6 of them are small and 3 of them are descent size. They come in pastel and primary colors and you can get them from Target, Kmart and Toys R us . We got ours from Kmart becasue tey are cheaper there and only ran me $40. It works wonderfully!

I just went over to Family Dollar and got 2 big round tubs to throw their toys in. I don't like them, but I tell my self one day I will be organized. It helps a little. LOL

I have the three drawer carts with wheels also. We use them for matchbox cars. They are awesome and can wheel right into the closet and be hiddend behind the door!!! LOL!!!

We also have the big plastic bag like basket with handles. That works wonders too. And when he wants to take them with him we just pick up the whole basket.

I have a few systems going- bins in an organizer, baskets, train table w/ bins, and the sterlite 3 drawer carts on wheels. Sterlite are my favorite. The problem comes with large playsets that don't fit into draweres...they are my nemesis.

i used to separate stuff like "action guys" and "cars" and "musical instruments" but now I am just over it and stuff gets tossed in bins willy nilly.

I have a lot of baskets and various toy chests around the house. I would love it if things were not mixed up, but I've given up that effort. A few times per year I go around and dump each one out, take out what doesn't belong, put drivers back with their cars, balls with their games, etc. and now I plan to take out what they have outgrown. I'll get to that. Soon. I promise!

Here's a link to the organizer that jafsunshine is refering to (in case you need a visual):

Storage Organizer - White : Target

We also have one of these, but in more primary colors. The balls are supposed to stay in the "ball" box, the cars in the "car" box, etc. etc. Things still get disorganized sometimes, but you get the gist

well.which room do you want to know about

upstairs in ds room we have the plastic underbed roller bins and a bigger set from ikea with three larger deeper bins, for geotrax, dinos etc and on top of that two smaller toy boxes with geotrax stuff in it.
downstairs..we have a table and chair set that has a toybox in the bench and another matching toybox (we paid a frickin fortune for it all since its wood and a special brand) along with a chest of drawers that has toys in it a book shelf with games and books and under the train table we have two rolller boxes with cars and thomas trains in it..the train table itself has drawers for the wooden stuff. legos are in a big roller box with wheels and then another smaller container sits on top of it..they are lego duplo so they are bigger legos.
i try to keep it all seperated..and ds does pretty well with that..since I told him I will NOT help him hunt for a certain car all over the house...he keeps the trains with the trains now
