In the other thread, I wasn't sure if people were reading my 2nd post. My son wants to send Stanley to all of you!! So I have decided that with so many great choices, and so many WONDERFULLY nice people (yay AFC), that Stanley should travel acrossed the USA!!! HOW FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you would be willing to participate, I need you to list your state. I will then gather a list and pm you for your mailing address. I am going to try to make this as "geographically correct" as possible, so coming from Ohio, he will probably go S first (Virginia, Florida, etc) then make his way acrossed the US westward to Cali and back.

You can include as much, or as little as you wish when you mail him to someone different: a picture of him ( with or without your family) doing something fun--at an attraction, etc, whatever!!, ******a postcard of your area, or something with your state name so my son can post this on a huge map; a note telling of Stanley's adventure at your home....whatever else you can think of You can be truthful (normal doesn't always equal boring!), or Stanley can get crazy at your house Either way, it is going to be super cool just to see where all Stanley makes it to!

Everyone who posts here will be included, even if we already have your state.

There is no time limit on this project, so as many people as we can get can join. This will be a great way for the kids to work with maps and geography/history, etc all year long!! and interesting too. They are very excited!!!

I am in for Durham, NC (near Duke childrens hospital).

Now would it be easier to send the pic and postcard to you and then send S long to the next person? Because depending on how many people you get the envie might be pretty thick and expensive for the last person to send.

I know...I was thinking that. It probably would be better to do it that way, the only thing is everyone won't get to read all the fun Stanley is having But I don't know how else to do it!! I would love to get him as many, many, many places as possible!! but that would get awful thick....hmmmmm.....

Well we could all most on here our stories and post our pics then send you the actual post card and stuff...

good idea. I think that we could have a post that tells when Stanley is on his way to the next person, and where he just was etc. I could post all of that when I got the new story. That way ppl could read if they wanted, and if not....

So it looks like everyone will mail 2 envelopes, one of Stanley to the next person on the train, and one of all the "goodies" back to me.

This will probably work best, and ds can take a story in every couple of days instead of all at once. They can have "Stanley Update" days, and track his progress. I am going in today to tell his class. They are gonna think this is so neat!!!

My son sent Stanley to our neice whose husband was in the navy and he took him on the ship. They got pictures of him being saluted by the officers and lots of other good ones. Hope he can find some soldiers and sailors to visit! Maybe you can get a large US map (mounted on cardboard) to track his trip in red (yarn, marker etc...

Stanley is a little boy that had a bulletin board fall on him one night in his bedroom. At first he is sad, but then finds all kinds of cool things he can do being flat. one thing is being mailed to faraway places to find new adventures!!

He is a pc of paper that ds colored and cut out that looks like a little boy
