for the tresemme deal are we able to use a $1 coupon if the item is .99cents? I went today to get the pampers wipes that were 1.99 and use the $2 coupon and they told me i could NOT use it as it was 1 cent over!??!?!?!

The tresemme is $1.99 less $1 coupon so comes out to 99 cents after Q.

Usually if the coupon is higher than sale price, they adjust it down so there is no overage. I've never had A&P tell me they won't take, but I have had them adjust a $2 Q down to $1.49 sale price of item so there was no overage.

I had the exact same thing happen to me, I was at the self check out, I wonder in the future, if i go to the cashier and just give them my card after the coupons if the problem will go away?
With the self check out if you don't scan your card before coupons it will ask you to scan card or press "no card" , i've been wondiering if pressing the "no card" button and then scanning my coupons and then either trying to scan your card afterwards or having the help person do it will eliminate the problem. I think maybe I will try it if I ever go in and get something that is not on sale....
I will post how that goes when I remember to do it.

Are the peelies supposed to be on the cereal now, or is this from some other peelie promotion earlier?

Did you do the Edy's. skinney Cow, Haagan das $1/3 cups with the Edys sale of $2.50 and have it work?
Im thinking about seeing if it goes thru.

They are in the coupon database, not certain if they are on the cereals now, they may have been on an earlier promotion.

$1 off 3 cups wouldn't apply because the coupon is written to be off of the smaller cups and the Edys $2.50 sale is on the large ice cream containers.

It depends on a number of factors, of which I have never been able to fully figure out . . . These are observations from dealing with the registers and not a cashier saying I could not use a coupon worth more than the value of the product before trying to scan it first.

When I used the Dentyne $1/1 coupon and the gum was on sale for $.99 they scanned through with no problems. I am going to assume this is because the product is normally more than $1 and at Waldbaum's (the affiliate to A&P where I live) scans the card last. So the register is comparing the $1 coupon to the regular, non sale price.

When the Motrin PM has been on sale for $2.95 (20 count) and I use the $3/1 coupon, the last coupon beeps. I have had cashiers who just force it through. Recently, while at a Uscan when this occurred, the cashier took off the first 3 coupons and then put them all in for $2.95 each.

I had 2 printed coupons (from FaceBook) for $2 off Oscar Mayer lunch meat. The turkey bologna was on sale for $1.99. The coupon beeped. The cashier asked the front end person (who knows me well and that I use coupons legitimately - my coupon friend calls her Red) and she said they were no longer able to key in coupons. I was shocked to say the least. I very nicely stuck to my guns -- this was the right product with the right coupon. They asked someone else (who also knows me) and she asked if it was kosher -- they said yes. She said THIS is when you can key it in. You have to be sure, not just do it. Red said no problem -- they were busting her hump about other stuff so she is playing it totally by the book (again I have NO problems with that) and she did not want more trouble. I thanked everyone profusely.

One day I will figure this all out. But not today.
