Not sure if this has been posted before but the cashier told me today when I bought ink for the office printers that for every empty ink cartrige or toner you can get 3.00 for each and use 9.00 worth at one time as long as your purchase is 9.00 or more I asked her was is good for gift cards of too of different stores that they sale and she said absolutely.

I am going to get a 25.00 jcpenny gift card for 16.00 and save for christmas!!!

Yes, we have gotten credit for our office toner cartridges also by bringing them in. I was wondering if it is only for larger toner cartridges, or if they also reimburse you for smaller ink cartridges for personal printers. I love the gift card idea!

Do you have to have them refilled or just bring them in and get a $3 credit? Hmm that would come in handy because there are still more school supplies the kids needs.

Not all ink cartridges are accepted, though. They'll tell you which ones are/aren't...

I do this all the time.... between my printing coupons and using my photo printer I run through the ink. Since I sell on ebay, I use the $9 to purchase 4 of the 12 pks of bubble mailers and I dont have to pay anything

I asked Staples if they took the remanufactured ink cartridge, they said NO. they take only those with brand names like HP, Dell, etc.

Does Office Depot take remanufactured ones?

Staples will take your empty ink cartridges (HP,DELL). However, they do not give you instant credit. They will mail you a check every few months for all of the cartridges that you turned in.
I would keep up with the amount of cartridges you turn in because the last time I turned in 3 cartridges and only got a check for $3.00. I think they only send out checks every 3-4 months.
You will also need to sign up for a rewards card.

yeah, that's what they told me, too so I didn't turn in my cartridges.

they will send you a check after 90 days but its not like a rebate check you can bring to the bank, you have to spend it at the store.

I just go to Staples for the advertised free stuff. over here, you can get the allowed limit per person and not even pay tax.

Word from a OD worker is... They dont take Epson's, with Cannon they only take 40 & 41, most HP they take and all of Lexmark.

They take remanu ones but not ink tanks. HP #'s 2 & 88 are ink tanks and they dont take those and he thinks 14 and 15s are too but those are being discontinued anyways.

Ink tanks, incase you dont know, because I didnt are inks that do not have the metal thingie on them, as in there is no head on it, its just a tank.

Staples is now sending Ink Rewards each month, separate from the other rewards they send out. And the expiration date is short. I don't like this change...

I gave several (probably 5) cartriges to office depot and never got credit for them. It was supposed to go on the customer card. I gave 5 to staples and they sent a voucher for $15 in about a month. I used this to get more cartriges of course. My pet peve is coupons that make you print (waste colored ink) thier advertisements.

Staples - you can turn in 10 carts per month per account.

OMX - You can turn in 10 carts per week per account.

OD - You can turn in 5 carts per day per account, but your rewards will not be greater than the amount of your yearly purchases.

Does this mean that even though I've taken in 12 ink cartridges in the second quarter - that I won't get the $36 in rewards because I haven't spent $36 yet? If this is true I'm going to be upset. I originally was taking them to Staples - then I learn OD does it and they are actually closer so I started going there - OH MAN will I be upset, because they sure didn't explain it that way - if that is true then I will go back to Staples.

I believe as long as your purchases made during the year, up to and including the current quarter and used when calculating and issusing rewards.

If you have $300 in purchases in the first quarter, and turn in $150 of carts, you should get a $150 reward. If you turn in $400 or carts, you will only get $300.

If in quarter two you turn in $300 of carts, and have $600 in purchases and $300 of ink from quarter one, but no purchases, then I believe the $300 in remaining purchases from the first quarter will be used and applied toward the second quarter, up to the end of the year.

I personally only do OMX and Staples as there are no OD's around, however this is how I understand their program to work. Someone else might know for certain, or you can always ask in the store.

Warning! I just talked to a customer service person that works with Office Depot WorkLife Rewards. She said that I have no ink cartridge credits in my acct even though I turned some in several weeks ago. She advised me to take my receipt to the store and have them resubmit the credit. I asked if this happens often. She said that IT DOES! She said that the stores aren't good about turning them in!!!! I hope I have my receipt. I'm going to Staples from now on. I haven't had this problem with them!

No one explained that to me either but on the receipt; it said so. It said also that the rewards are issued quarterly so I'm hoping that if I buy a router, my cartridges will help pay for that. I've turned in 6 cartridges so far and have a $0 spending amount. As long as it is calculated in with the quarter with my spending, that will be fine with me.

I was told yesterday at OD that they used to only take certain inks and now they are accepting all of them, no matter what as their recycling program...I have taken several in but I have not spent enough to get anything back yet

This will be my first ink reward with OD. Has anyone received their 3rd quarter(July, August, September) ink reward?

I haven't gotten my 3rd quarter yet, but I don't think I'm at the minimum amount just yet. OD is now accepting ALL ink cartridges. They use to not accept the Brother "tank" ink-jet cartridges, but they do now. You also have to spend at least the amount you are getting credit for. I have about 20 cartridges from work that I'm going to turn in (not all at once, but over several days) and buy some computer software and gadgets that my hubby and kids want for xmas. This way I know that I will have spent what I turned in and will get a nice reward soon after xmas!
