Kroger Matches Discounts Of Other Retailers On Prescription Women's Health Medications

The grocery store chain Kroger on Wednesday will become the latest retail chain to add a number of women's health-related medications to its discount prescription drug program. This is similar to programs at Wal-Mart Stores, and Target. Kroger will sell several specialized women's-health related medications - including tamoxifen and alendronate (for breast cancer), and the generic form of Fosamax (for osteoporosis). A 30-day supply will cost $9 as reported in the Tennessean on 5/13. A 90-day supply of these drugs will cost $24 (Cincinnati Enquirer, 5/13).
