I just read this article online

The end of the Wal-Mart era - MSN Money

and here is an interesting quote from the story.

He says some manufacturers now sell their wares faster at other retailers. "Four of the top 10 consumer-products companies say they can move merchandise faster with Walgreen and CVS," says Flickinger, who came up with the estimate from his talks with consumer-products firms. Such retailers have been rewarded with lower costs and better sales gains.

Yea. I hate their poor quality, small selection, and their customer service, but they always get me on convenience. I was scared they would put everyone out of business.

If I am not mistaken, didn't they used to say buy "america products" or was that k-mart I don't remember now but WM has moreimported stuff than any other store

Thank you so much for this article. I think shopping at walmart SUCKS. I am glad that I have learned from this site how I can avoid shopping there. I was kind of forced out of walmart shopping by 2 things: twins w/ no twin carts at my store and BAD cust. service girls who ticked me off one good time. The twins forced me to shop at Kroger and I just can't see myself going back to where and still do things affordably.Walmart is a 2 hr shopping trek followed by a long hot wait in a slow line. It always gave me a headache literally. I can finish Kroger much quicker and everyone is nice and now the full-timers act like they know me. CVS is the same- they get upset if I come in w/o the kids b/c they say they miss them. NEVER got that at walmart. Add to that jsut plain better deals between doubling coupons or extra bucks and walmart is really no competition for the most part. I'm glad other people are finding other places to shop. Walmart needs to shape up....never the same since Mr. Sam died.

Yes, Southwood that was Walmart saying in the early 1990's , I agree with you , they carried more import products than any other store.
