| Fort Hood shooting: 12 confirmed dead, 31 wounded

OMG!!! My sister-in-law and her husband were stationed there for 8 years. They just moved from there in August because he got out of the army. Does anyone have details? I am praying.....

I just read on MSNBC that there is no word from the base yet whether the victims are military or civilians. 7 dead and 12 injured

My prayers are with the military family! Its so scary, my dad has to go every so ofter for medical testing and Thank God this is not one of the weeks he has to go! Praying for everyone

Please pray for the families and fellow soldiers. It happened right by my husbands HQ but luckily (sounds odd) they are deployed.

My brother in law was stationed there for years before he retired then he was head of security as a civil service employee for several more years until last year, when he left to work for a private company. I'm glad he is not on base any more, but I'm sure he will he affected by shooting.

Hugs and prayers for everyone involved. Wow Darcie sounds like it could have been a close call for your Dh. This is terrible that this happened and my heart goes out to every family.

absolutely saddening...that our Soldiers have lost their lives on a military base....somewhere they should not have to worry about this happening. I'm just saddened by this.

My sister is in lockdown at the hospital, she was allowed to leave to pick up her kids and then go back to the hospital where she will not be allowed to leave until further notice. My dad is on his way there to get the kids. Thankfully she was not on base at the time of the shooting, nor was her DH who is "safe" in Iraq. She is an OR nurse and is trying to get us any info she can get, she said there are at least 30 people injured and that one of the dead is a civilian police officer. Supposedly the shooters were soldiers who just got back from Iraq, this is not confirmed but was mentioned by 2 different people from Foot Hood.

I just read on yahoo news that the guy who opened fire is not dead! he is alive, the hospital was confused...can u believe that???

He waited until the soldiers were lined up to get their medical shots before killing people. This has upset me all day. I'm so so sorry to all of those involved. I always am thankful for our troops and their families, and I always pray for them all, and this has just encouraged me to pray more. This is so terrible. I have a marine friend who has two family members stationed there, his brother and cousin. He didn't hear from them until 4:30 this morning. They said it was like a war zone. Its upset me also. I did not hear about it until I got off work yesterday and walked in the house. There is way too much hatred and violence in this world. Our children really have a rough road ahead. I am not sure what you all believe in. But I'm a Christian and I know that God turned his back on Jesus while he was on the cross for taking on the sins of mankind (it was the plan but still) I wonder if God has or one day will turn his back on us and we'll suffer more before his sweet return. I believe we live in hell on earth. My local news has a rapist in the area I live in, he's already raped 14 women since last week. Then the news in Ohio with the serial murderer who has all those women buried in his home. We live in a sick world.
