I have been mystery shopping and filling in with merchandising for almost a year now. I was wondering if anyone else does this full time??

Who do you do it through? I was with shadow shopper for the free 90 day period and got an insurance shop for $100 and a couple restaurant shops that I could not do due to timing. I was not sure if I should pay for a "membership" and so I let it lapse.

I don't pay for any memberships. Volition.com has a list of companies that the people on there check daily for jobs and I signed up with those companies... so far I'm signed up with 50+ companies and check the sites daily for jobs.

Cool...do you get many jobs? Also, I noticed you are from Nebraksa, do you live or shop in Omaha? That's where I am.

No ... Norfolk. My sister is in Omaha though. Right now now I make anywhere from 500-1500 a month every month is different.

how exactly does mystery shopping work? I don't totally understand it.

I signed up for it but will not pay for anything like that. They expect you to pay to be Silver or Gold. A couple months after I was Bronze they gave me a free 1 week trial of Gold. Alot of the mystery shopping and merchandising companies they post(in this area anyway) I was already signed up for. When I first signed up for it I thought it was a whole nother company itself to work for but they just advertise for companies and you have to go through them like you would a hiring agency. I read reviews and everyone has said it's not worth paying for since you end up finding the companies they list on volition anyway. Even with the bronze if you read carefully when they email you about a job they sometimes list the company and I go straight to the company website and apply through them rather than going through shadowshopper. Mystery shopping... you sign up with companies get jobs... like I did Cato Fashion not to long ago.. make a purchase get reimbursed for the purchase, get to keep the item and get paid a fee for the report you do.
