Dance ALL products for free AND $31.77 MM!!!

I was wrong in what I originally posted. I just figured out all of the details, and here they are. I went to three stores at different times of the day. It was interesting to see the difference in price in the same product ($3.19 vs. $3.49). Transactions 1 thru 7 were done at one store, 8 and 9 at another, and 10 at the third store.

Here's what I did:

Transactions 1, 2, 3, and 4: $11.12 OOP TOTAL ($2.78ea x 4) PLUS $40 in BAYER RRs BACK (4 @ $10.00)
7 Bayer chewable 32ct @ $3.19ea = $22.33
-7 Bayer coupons @ $3.00ea = - $21.00
----------------

Transaction 5: $2.01 STORE CREDIT PLUS $2 SUAVE RR BACK
1 Axe 12oz @ $2.89ea = $2.89
- 1 Axe coupon @ $1.00 = - $1.00
2 Arizona Drinks (2/$1) = $1.00
1 Suave Shampoo @ $1 = $1.00
1 Suave Conditioner @ $1 = $1.00
2 Hefty One Zip (BOGO) = $3.49
- 1 Hefty coupon @ $1.00 = - $1.00
- $10 Bayer RR = - $10.00
------------------

Transaction 6: $2.01 CASH REFUND PLUS $2 SUAVE RR BACK
1 Axe 12oz @ $2.89 = $2.89
- 1 Axe coupon @ $1.00 = - $1.00
2 Arizona Drinks (2/$1) = $1.00
1 Suave Shampoo @ $1 = $1.00
1 Suave Conditioner @ $1 = $1.00
2 Hefty One Zip (BOGO) = $3.49
- 1 Hefty coupon @ $1.00 = - $1.00
- $10 Bayer RR = - $10.00
------------------

Transaction 7: $1.37 STORE CREDIT PLUS $2 SUAVE RR BACK
2 Arizona Drinks (2/$1) = $1.00
1 Suave Shampoo @ $1 = $1.00
1 Suave Conditioner @ $1 = $1.00
4 Hefty One Zip (BOGO @ $3.49 x 2) = $6.98
- 2 Hefty coupons @ $1.00ea = - $2.00
- $10 Bayer RR = - $10.00
------------------

Transaction 8: $.92 OOP PLUS $10 BAYER RR BACK
6 Bayer chewable 32ct @ $3.49ea = $20.94
-6 Bayer coupons @ $3.00ea = - $18.00
- Store Credit of $3.38 = - $3.38
----------------

Transaction 9: $1.80 OOP PLUS $10 BAYER RR BACK
6 Bayer chewable 32ct @ $3.49ea = $20.94
-6 Bayer coupons @ $3.00ea = - $18.00
3 Butterball chicken stock @ $.50ea = $1.50
-2 Suave RR @ $2.00ea = - $4.00
----------------

Transaction 10: $.78 OOP PLUS $10 BAYER RR BACK
7 Bayer chewable 32ct @ $3.19ea = $22.33
-7 Bayer coupons @ $3.00ea = - $21.00
-1 Suave RR @ $2.00 = - $2.00
======================================

TOTAL FOR THE DAY -->> $9.23 OOP and I have $40 in RR left (4 @ $10) !!!

So basically, I got all of the products for free AND "pocketed" $31.77!! (Counting the RRs as cash, because I can use them at Meijer!)

Now, I'm almost positive you're not supposed to walk away with a refund or store credit, but I don't think the cashier knew what she was doing, and the manager ended up coming over and finishing the transactions, so he approved every one. I wasn't feeling well, as I'd been at the store for several hours by that time and I hadn't had anything to eat and too much caffeine (LOL). I just handed over my products and coupons and let them figure it out.

Incidentally, while I was at each store, I questioned the manager(s) about the Clean & Clear trial size deal (with the $2 coupon in the Walgreens monthly book). I even brought a copy of the coupon policy with me, and pointed out that the coupon could/should be adjusted down to the price of the item if the item costs less than the coupon amount. Each one told me they couldn't adjust the amount on a Walgreens coupon; that the register wasn't set up such that it would allow them to do that (adjust the amount). I'm not sure how others have done it. (Saw it in another post here.)

Hope my post helps someone. I'm totally new to Wags couponing - this was my first time - I think I did SWELL! hehehe Wouldn't have done it if I couldn't use the RRs at Meijer.

Holy macarel! You go girl! Did you try buying 2 trial sizes using the Q and just paying a little oop? That worked for me on something else a while back, I don't remember what. But I am very disappointed they have not had the Body wash on sale this whole month. I am noticing this more and more with the in-store booklet. The stuff never goes on sale anymore. So I have one question????? How in the world did you get store credit???? Lucky you.

In that transaction (and others too) your items do not add up to the $10 you would need to spend to use a $10 RR. Your items add up to $9.38 and then you subtract your (2) $1 coupons for a total of $7.38. You should not have been allowed to use a $10 RR to pay the remaining $7.38. Wags doesn't give cash back so if your total isn't at least $10 they will not let you use the $10 RR.

She showed the cash back in her transactions and stated that she didn't think that they should have given her cash back but as it was her first WAGS trip she wasn't sure and the manage allowed it. My question is-if I were to copy her transactions I could just add fillers to bring up the dollar amt correct?

Yes, but then you would have a higher OOP because you wouldn't have the store credit/cash back that she used in some of her transactions.

Actually, with the corporate policy, they would've just adjusted the $10RR down to $7.38 (or whatever the remaining balance was).

Bayer is Spend $20 get $10RR. The $20 is pre-coupon and there are a few different ones that are either $3.19 or $3.49 ea. Use the $3/1 Bayer MQ and you end up spending very little (less than $5) and you get $10RR. Too bad the $3/1 Q was only in a few of the inserts I get

I'm new to couponing. When I see transactions like this I think they are amazing but I have to wonder, "Where do they get that many coupons from? Are they ordering 15 newspapers or just buying inserts from a clipping service?" What do you all do?

It really varied from couponer to couponer. Some order from clipping services, others to buy that many papers. Personally, I have a few co-workers and neighbors that all give me the inserts from their papers (they "don't have the time" to coupon ). I'll even go around my neighborhood the night before trash night and raid recycling bins...it's amazing how many people get the paper but ditch the coupons.

I always purchase 4 papers, they pay for themselves. But since people Know I coupon, neighbors, family, friends, etc. and they are welcome to take whatever they need from me they all save them for me. And then they tell their co-workers and friends, and they save them for me if they do not use them. It is kinda like a waterfall effect. My niece calls my basement Basemart... But I usually end up with about 20 of each insert. Sometimes more sometimes less.

Thank you for letting me know for future Wags trips. Again, I'm new to Wags couponing -that was my first time - and I didn't plan the trip out or anything. I had peeked at the Walgreens matchups out of curiosity and saw the Bayer deal. I went in just for the Bayer but looked at the ad and looked around the store while I was there. When I was done shopping, I gave the coupons and items to the cashier and that's what happened. I didn't ask for anything or fight for anything. (I just wanted to get out of there because I'd run out of oxygen and I was ready to fall out - but I didn't tell them that! LOL)

Speaking of getting coupons, does anyone know of a newpaper that you can subscribe to by mail and still get the coupons. We live in a small town and rarely have more than 5-10 coupons in our inserts in a week. We used to get the Dallas paper delivered to our town, but now that doesn't happen. I tried subscribing by mail, but didn't get the ads or coupons. I would be willing to pay postage + a little if someone would send me the inserts that they have extra. ;>) MS

If it's a really good deal and I want large quantities, I'll order coupons from a clipping service. But the last few weeks, the coupons have been good enough that I've bought at least 20 Sunday newpapers. As someone else said... they pay for themselves... over and over! There are some weeks that I don't even buy a paper (very rarely), because the coupons aren't that great.

What one poster said about going through people's recycle bins... that's an idea... but I don't think I'd have the guts (or the stomach)! LOL I've heard of people going to the local recycling stations, but someone told me in our area there was something that prevented people from doing that. (Can't remember what, but if you did it, you'd get charged for theft, supposedly. That sounds like it would cost more than the coupons would be worth! LOL) So I'm happy to buy extra newspapers or just order coupons from a clipping service.

The idea of looking in recycling bins is awesome. I'm definitely going to give it a try. Our bins here are small and usually pretty clean, so it shouldn't be gross.

I get mine from a person who has a paper route but if you google "whole inserts" -you will find several sources. There are also people who trade whole inserts on AFC.

When I was done shopping, I gave the coupons and items to the cashier and that's what happened. I didn't ask for anything or fight for anything. (I just wanted to get out of there because I'd run out of oxygen and I was ready to fall out - but I didn't tell them that! LOL)
do you have the old or the new (touch screen) registers? luck was on your side in this case because even with the old registers, IF your subtotal before sales tax is LESS than the amount you're giving, the register will automatically reject any RR or coupon for that matter. In fact, even when cashiers/MODs overrode the beeps, there were cases, the register just won't accept the RR that exceeds the total before tax. IF your total with tax is 10.00, register shouldn't have accepted it based on their policy that says NO portion of RRs can be used to pay for sales tax.
