My very first walgreens trip.... i went yesterday before church. i was not impressed. i had carefully planned my trip and even had a very nice lady on here who worked at walgreens and everything help me perfect it! i spent hours! my fiance even got mad because i was paying so much attention to it! the walgreens is an hour from my house! anyways... here was my scenerio all carefully planned out#1 4 Garnier Fructis .01 overage each=.04 coffee mate bogo 2.49 - 1- $1 q & 1 $1.50 q =FREE for both advil pm $2.49 after $2 q- $2 rr =.49 crest pro-health 1.49 afte $1 q - $1 rr =.49 irish spring $4.49 - $4.50 rr=free Right guard $2.99 - $2 rr = .99 2 sense & spray starter kits -$4.01 overage! =$12 oop -$4.01 overage = $7.99 get $9.50 rr #2 2 lasting impressions -$4.01 overage 2 gentle care diapers =$20 -$10 (2qs) =$10 1 gentle care wipe = $6 - $5 =$1 planters bogo I have a free q so those are both free? =$11.02 -$4.01 = 7.01 = 3 fillers at .99 each = 9.98- 9.50 rr = $.48 oop? alternate #2 2 sense & spray starter kits -4.01 overage 2 huggies diapers =$20 - $6 (2qs) =$14 1 gentle care wipe=$6 - $5 = $1 (need i guess 4 fillers small fillers (i used utz .25 chips) =15.00 - 9.50 rr -4.01 overage = $1.50 oop? i planned to do #1 then #2, then #1 the alt. #2, and so on. i wanted to do 4 per store, there was another i could go to, but like i said i live an hour away, so i wasn't planning on hording either! just i can't go but that one day before the sales over. make sense? well.... they only had one sense and spray all out of the lasting impressions, so that messed me up, used it on my original purchase. the irish spring didn't give you rrs, instead a q for a free one! messed me up more than i realized! they didn't have gentle care wipes... and no where on the $3 q did i see that you could buy just wipes.... so i didnt' even try, instead got kotex tampons and liners. only had .75 off of those cause the $1 ones expired the day before! almost didn't think i had any qs until i kept flipping and found them in my accordian! ! the cashier was super nice! i asked him prior to shopping if i could do my 4 transactions and he said SURE! he was a younger guy! ! anyways, so i do my first two transactions, i already had all 4 in my cart, and was very disappointed with my oop, plus the irish spring not working! the sense and spray bogo with overage worked well! thanks saskpb! he pushed the second q for the coffee mate through, i think i read prior to going some people were having problems with that. so i said... let me take this stuff out to the car, regroup and come back and do my last 2 transactions. he was totally fine. so i ended up replacing the irish spring with the gamer razor for the second #1 i did. still.. not pleased with oop results. the $5 qs worked on the regular diapers too! a fellow afcer gave me the heads up ! Thanks! I never caught your name! so idk...all in all i was disappointed, didn't end up going to the second walgreens and ended up spending like $35 oop and have $10 rrs to use on the wags diapers next week, then im done with rrs! cvs is so much easier with rolling ecbs!! i've decided i'll only do free and really cheap deals WITHOUT rr rolling! anyways... maybe it was good for me to have that experience... now i won't have to go out of my way to get the deals that sound so great on paper but i can't work out in the store! anyways, gl to the ones of ya'll that get it! sorry this is so long but i was rather upset when i left... and now i'm better! !

when i say 4 per store i mean 4 single transactions, not 4 sequences... just to clear that up, just read it and it sounds alittle confusing!

I hear you I have been kinda debating weather I was going to go to walgreens and try to do this or not. I live an hour from town too and where they arn't always printing rrs I am not sure its worth it.

I dont really dig walgreens either. I got the huggies yesterday. It is a good deal for my youngest sons diapers but not really for the older one. I have $20.00 in RR that I am probably going to blow on more huggies for the little one, and be done with them. I had no RR to start out with and spent alot oop. I think I will stick with CVS they are much easier to deal with.

I totally agree, I have never really got the hang of wags. All the wags around here are so inconsistant about coupon policies and etc. It is so much easier at CVS. I try not to go to Wags to often.

The thing I leaned with WAGS is that you need to be able to build your scenarios on the fly...if they are out of something, you need to switch it up. Have a list prepared of all available deals and see what they have in stock. I also have a tendency to do smaller transactions in case something goes wrong...test the water with a single Garnier before you try to buy five, especially if you know that the deal is inconsistent across stores. Hang in there, there are a lot of good deals to be had at WAGS...my wife doesn't like WAGS either, she prefers CVS and ECBs...it is easier at CVS |

I always have the same problem with Walgreens. It never works out the way I plan it and almost always end up paying much more oop. Stuff is not in stock, coupons don't scan, can't use more than one RR per transaction and so on. Too frustrating.

I don't like how quickly the RRs expire...I'm new to Wags too, it looks like they're only good for 2 weeks? That's a pretty tight timeframe. And because it's so easy to empty the shelves, they rarely have the things I've gone there for. I suspect their rainchecks are only good for prices, not for RRs or ESRs...so yeah, I'm going to focus my deal-designing on CVS and stick with the simpler things at Walgreens until they implement their new system. I'll say this though - I like the 10% bonus on the rebate-on-GC deal.

I know, it's kind of a pain, especially when you went through all the trouble to plan your trip carefully. The same thing happened to me today, they were out of Huggies Gentle Care and only had one sense n spray. It messed up my whole trip! I still did ok though and I love love love Walgreens. I think most of it is for my favorite cashier though...and I have a KICKIN' manager, which I've heard is pretty rare. I'll never go to CVS unless they quit.
