Have you ever had limits set on items you buy by a manager? Ok so I have a Wags that hates me!! I have never done anything but for some reason the manager do not like me asking for rainchecks or asking if they have any more of something in the back. Well today I went to get some Schick Disposables and both the mens and womens were sold out. So I asked the cashier for a raincheck. She called the code and within two minutes the phone rang and of course the lazy manager wanted to know why and what I wanted a rain check for. Well another two minutes passed and then she came up and called another girl to go check the back. Well the girl came out with like 8 of them and I said oh well I will take all of them and just my raincheck for the mens (knowing that the sale ended in 3 hours and there was no limit). The manager then walked over and said "Well you can only have 3. The limit is 3." I said where is the limit 3? She said, well I am making it three. Long story short I told her I was calling the DM because I was sick of being treated like dirt in their store (exact words)!! Has anyone else ever had a manager place limits on how many they buy?

yes, kind of happened to me tonight. I went to walgreens there was four left i grabbed them. Asked for a rain check for a few more and was told "you took the last four you cant get a rain check"... I was like what are you kidding me???? The manager then tells me that I have to do seperate transactions for each one cause the easy saver says one per coupon.. I was like are you for real again?? By this time I was so about to just leave and say forget it. So as I was checking out in the beauty section I asked the nice cashier so " since when is it a policy that i cant get a rain check since i took the last four of the"?? She said I;m sorry i have no clue and dont think it is right. I agreed and told her its not like its the first day of the sale and i'm clearing you out. Its the last day. I was nice enough to wait till the last day to try and get these. I was mad, so I will find a friendly walgreens if I can...

I have never had any limits set, but tonight when I bought 2-liters for $.89 (with peelies for $1/2!) a Manager kept following me around (I had 8 total 2-liters in my cart!) I even bought some Diet that way I wouldnt be wiping their store out! The Manager must have just been observing me. I was able to check out without any probs! And really glad none of my peelies didnt beep! I split them into 2 orders, since the limit was 4. I try to do the right thing, and that is just about all you can do! If you have such an unpleasant experience like posted above, then I too would call and complain. I just got very lucky tonight!

I had that problem at one of the WAGS in my area, the GM tried to pull that on me, well first thing the next morning, I was on the phone with the DM (whom I have actually become friends with after all my calls) and since then, everytime I come in she seems to disappear. When I check out however, the phone "coincidently" rings, and I know it's her telling whoever is checking me out to scrutinize all of my Qs.

if I understand it right, you took offense that the SM set a limit to 3 of what you can buy, right? if that's the issue, I'm not sure corporate will side with you on this one. I understand your frustration but if the SM was courteous and firm when she set the limit, there is nothing you can do. She still allowed you to buy some. Weigh it carefully before you call especially if you plan to keep on shopping at this store. as PP said, they do have the right to limit the sale of ANY item at the store, its even stated in most, if not all weekly ads if you read the fine print on the last page, IIRC.

And let me just say that the problem was that this SM was not courteous and never is. |

The stores have the right to limit quantities, plain and simple. A good manager will do his best to have enough stock on hand to accomodate everyone - not just enough stock to get him through the end of a sale. Not everyone who shops at drugstores does it for the deals (sad thought, I know) and if he sells his entire stock to you tonight, he may lose the customer tomorrow who just needs to buy a razor and doesn't care if it's on sale or not. Walgreens, as a corporation, would never try to "weed out" consumers who clip coupons. No retailer who is in business to make a profit would turn down a form of payment. When people buy excess quantities of a product, the shelves sit bare until more product arrives. Empty shelves add up to unhappy customers. In an attempt to please as many of their customers as possible, stores reserve the right to limit quantities - whether the item is on sale or not, whether you have a coupon or not. If the store employees or manager continuously is rude to you or gives you an "attitude" just because you use coupons, I think that you have a valid concern to bring up with the DM. However, if all the manager did was impose a reasonable limit, he did nothing that warrants a call to the DM. JMO, of course.

Here lately I have felt I was being watched? Anyone else get that feeling.... maybe it is because I don't purchase alot ... not by choice but BECAUSE they NEVER have their sales items or RR items? Which is soooooooooo irritating!!!!

We are getting two new Wags within the next year so hopefully I will never have to shop at this one after they are complete! I just find it to be funny that if I hadn't asked for a raincheck they would have never checked the back and therefore never have sold the "regular customer" a razor in the first place! On top of the fact that I don't think they are allowed to limit your quantity on your RC too. If it hadn't have been me she would have sold all of them (on top of the fact that if those 8 were on the shelves and I grabbed those 8 and went to the register I would have never been questioned or limited) ...I can almost guarantee it! If it was so she had some stock then she would have said so when she was talking about limiting. Her excuse was that it was her right to limit. Well if they want to limit than I will take my business elsewhere my other wags does not limit and loves to see me walk in the store. The manager encourages me to clean his shelves! Unfortunately they were sold out of both razors.
