Squeeze My FIRST Walgreens trip! And question for those who are regulars!?

So I read up on the Kellogg's thread/s here and had plenty of Q's I'd traded for - $1/2 and the $5/10 coupon - as well as the MIR forms for the $10 back wyb 10 items.

Went to two Walgreens this afternoon - first one was out of most everything that would qualify. But I got a few items, and got my TWO $5.00 RRs.

At the 2nd one, it wouldn't spit out ANY, so the asst. mgr took all my stuff to cosmetics register, voided them all out, re-entered, and they STILL didn't print. So he gave me two forms to fill out and mail in for two $5.00 coupons (1 for Nutragrain, 1 for Rice Krispie treats). Was kinda bummed that I didn't get 4 that trip.

I went to Rite Aid and got 10 more ($1.99 each for the Grab & Go, Keebler cookies to-go, and Raisin Bran cereal) to do the 3rd MIR form I had. Put it all on my $30 GC I got a few weeks ago for transferring a script, and had $4.82 left over on the GC (I had used a little bit before off of it).

All together I got:

5 Rice Krispie treats
4 Keebler cookies
1 Raisin Bran
5 Nutragrain bars
5 Pop Tarts
1 big bottled water (all that shopping makes ya thirsty! )
4 packs of college ruled paper
4 packs of erasers
6 marble composition books
2 packs regular school glue
2 jumbo glue sticks
2 ten-pack mechanical pencils
2 packs colored index cards
2 eight-pack washable markers

Grand total after coupons, RR, and MIR: -$17.xx !!!! They PAID me to take it all home (once my $30 MIRs come, that is).

I had no idea you could use the Kraft free coupons with these until I got home and saw a reply to another thread.

Still, we have PLENTY of breakfast stuff for back-to-school now, and Keebler Cookies take-alongs, too.

While I am very glad to have gotten all this stuff, I have to ask everyone else who is loyal to Walgreens ----

What is UP with their staff??? I have now been to three different Wags (one trip pre-AFC, so it doesn't count as my "first" ) - and I swear, it's like every employee is on Valium or something! They move.....so......slow....at....all....the....store s..... At the first one, I asked the guy at the register if they had more PopTarts & Nutragrain bars in the back. He told me to ask the photo guy. Waited forever in line (there was ONE person in front of me) and finally asked him really nicely. He said he'd go check for me. Then proceeded to stop on the way (10 feet from me) and start chatting with another employee about vacation time!! I just stood there patiently waiting.... he went "to the back" or so I thought. Finally, after waiting another 10 minutes or so, I asked the employee he was talking to as she was now in the photo lab. She said "Oh, he's gone for the day" WHAT?!?! "But I'll go look for you..." What the heck??? He said he was going to check for me, then LEFT THE BUILDING!?

Talk about Customer No-Service. It's not just that Wags, either, every single one has the worst CS I have ever seen. Worse than even my Rite Aid store - and that's saying something! Are ALL of them like this?? Or did I just pick the three worst ones in the Triad of NC to visit??? By the end of the 2nd trip, I was wondering if it's even worth it. I was literally in Wags for about 3.5 hours today! What really stinks is we are finally getting one in my town... I HOPE and pray they aren't like the ones in G'boro! If they are, I will have to take vacation days just to shop there, it takes so long!

LOL i know its not funny but just thinking about the person that said they were going to help you and then left the bldg makes me laugh!

I guess it all depends on the wags you go to, I don't really have a problem at mine, still keeping my fingers crossed on that one, but I do have 3 that are located in a 2 mile radius (crazy).

Hopefully the one they are building closer to you will be better!

I have a soft spot in my heart for Walgreens as the one where I used to live is open 24/7/365. The one closest to me here isn't, but I can still recall frantically driving to a WAGS years ago {where I lived there was hardly anywhere to shop at 2 pm on a Tuesday either!} on Christmas eve at like midnight to buy 'emergency' stocking stuffers and other presents when I had an 'extra' and unexpected child in my house for the holidays.

A few of the cashiers at my local WAGS are kinda obnoxious, frankly, but most are great and the deals make it worth it for me.
