Many new couponers wonder how to put together deals into a shopping trip. So I figured I’d take a picture of a common shopping trip for myself to the Commissary. So all you Commissary shoppers – just look at what you can get for less then $20!



So the total for everything was $18.77. Of that amount $4.27 was the surcharge (basically Military tax) and .60 was the California CRV on bottles and cans. I did withdraw $5 cash so that’s why the debit amount is $23.77. I used a total of 49 coupons and saved a total of $70.95. Gotta love 83% savings!



Yes I could have done the “Extreme Couponing” thing and gotten more for less, but these were things we needed and wanted along with the free stuff. Also, several items were out of stock when I went, and a couple others the price had jumped since the last time I went. So you adjust fire and get what you can. I prefer to balance my shopping trips between items I can get free or cheap, to stockpile or donate, and the everyday items our family needs and wants. I also work have to balance the junk food with healthy options. So what do you think of this trip?
