| I love coupons!
Hi, all ![]() I'm sitting here so grateful for coupons and for all the great information I get on AFC! I'm sipping a cup of gingerale with green tea (free from a couple of weeks ago) and munching on a poptart (free from a few weeks ago) and looking at all the food I just came home with - I can't get over it. I made three transactions today and paid a total of $3.40 for over $100 (shelf price) worth of food. A great big thank you to everyone who takes the time to post not only the previews of the ad, but all the great scenarios to work with. My roommate moved out recently, rather unexpectedly, and so all of my bills have essentially doubled instantly. The savings I get here make all the difference in the world and allow me to eat like a queen on a shoestring budget. I ended up with: 21 Joint Juice 2 3lb roasts 2 5lb bags potatoes 2 2lb bags onions 2 1lb bags carrots 1 6lb bag apples 1 Jar Pace Salsa 5 lbs Split Chicken Breasts 4 Boxes Fiber One Bars 2 Packages Low fat Philly Cream Cheese All for $3.40!! Who knew you could get so excited about groceries!?!?! |

Great job! I am hoping to do that today too, perhaps (crossing my fingers) that my store has restocked the JJ. I want to fill my freezer with some meat to help with the grocery bills this winter, remembering that I have to keep that darn oil tank full with the cold weather coming!

Thanks! I'm having to re-arrange my freezer to fit all of these great finds! I need to get a separate freezer because I'm overflowing. Isn't it great that we can stock up for the winter? I love it, not only for the great prices, but so when it gets reallllly cold, I don't have to go out! Hoping you find the JJ at your store! |

Hi krimson, I'm new to AFC and not great at couponing. Where did you find awesome deals on meat and chicken?! I never do. I think I'm missing out by mainly shopping at Wal-Mart. Thanks |

Hi, Sable... I don't very often find awesome deals on meat and chicken, either, so what I usually do is look for ways to use an overage from another deal to buy those things. Produce, too. For these deals today, I used the overage from the Joint Juice catalina to purchase meat and chicken that was on sale, used additional coupons for free produce, and made out pretty well. I'll detail one of my three transactions below so you can get an idea of what I did. Keep reading these boards and you'll learn so much. I started out really slow, doing one deal at a time until I got the hang of it. Now I can figure out a lot of deals on my own, and come here for the rest - to see what other people are doing so I can copy them if it's stuff that I need or want. Here's what I did today. I started out with a coupon for $5 off 7 Joint Juice, a Catalina for $3 off beef from the Old El Paso deal last week, and a Catalina to save $10 on your next order. I also had a coupon for $1 off a roast out of a savings booklet from Shaw's. Shaw's flyer had a coupon for free potatoes, onions, and carrots when you buy a roast. Transaction #1 7 Joint Juice - on sale for $1 each, total $7 1 Roast 3.21 lbs on sale for $2.99 lb, total $9.60 1 bag 5 lbs potatoes on sale for $1.99 1 bag 2 lbs onions on sale for $.99 1 bag 1 lb carrots on sale for $.69 1 bag 5.70 lbs apples, on sale for .59 lb, total $3.36 Sale price total was $23.63 Minus JJ coupon -$ 5.00 Minus $10 Cat -$10.00 Minus $3 Beef Cat -$ 3.00 Minus $1 Roast Q -$ 1.00 Minus Free Veg Q -$ 3.67 Total Out of Pocket - $0.96 Also, received another $5 coupon off 7 Joint Juice and anothehr $10 off your next order for buying 7 Joint Juice to roll into the next deal. I know I didn't explain this in the most clear manner possible, but I hope it gives you an idea. Thanks! |

You are awesome! I'll get better at this. Thank you for the help. I'll look around the site too. I've seen Joint Juice mentioned several times before, I need to try it. |

I started the Joint Juice deal this way: On the JJ website there are coupons for B1G1 free. You can print 2 of them. Bought 5 JJ @ 1.29 each (before they were on sale) minus the two B1G1 coupons. $3.87 out of pocket and got a $5 coupon on 7 JJ and a $5 Catalina ONYO. From there I just started rolling, buying 7 JJ at a time, using the $5 coupon and the Cats, each time receiving another $5 coupon and another $10 ONYO. I've been doing my grocery shopping $8 at a time this week with the overage! Doesn't cost me anything but time and in this economy the free groceries come in REAL handy! |
