Good job! Using 6 coupons though is YMMV since RA's policy doesn't allow a coupon to be used on a free item. Lucky for me, my RA still does as well.

| Yeah I wasn't sure how that was going to work out. But nothing beeped and I asked ahead of time to make sure. It worked out much better then I had anticipated. I thought I was going to have to buy a couple more in another transaction to get the second UP to print, but I didn't have to.

How did you get the 20% off discount along with the b1g1 sale? If something is b1g1 you're not supposed to get a discount off too.

Mine doesn't. And I haven't gotten to Silver or Gold yet so my best scenario would be 6 x 3.99 BOGO = 11.97 - (3) $1 q's - (2) $2 +Ups received = 4.97 for 60 loads. I personally tend to use liquid detergent b/c it's cheaper. However, if "you are not completely satisfied with the product for any reason" (hmm, maybe price?? LOL) use this rebate form http://www.finishdishwashing.com/challenge_mbg_form.pdf which would bring the price for 60 loads down to 0.98 cents for non-gold, non-silver, members whose stores do not allow use of 2 coupons on a BOGO sale. Hope that helps some of you! I know I sometimes get annoyed when all Rite Aid scenarios use silver/gold discounts...

The full priced item was discounted, I assumed it was because it wasn't technically a sale price and the sale was on the free item. I'll find my receipt and post a picture of it.

Well never mind, I guess what I saw ringing up at 3.19 each...I guess that was the price before and then at the end when the free items hit maybe it reversed the 3.19 the ones there were not free must have switched them to 3.99? I even asked him as he was ringing me out if they were ringing up free (I questioned the packs I bought even though they had a tag) and he said yeah and they are 80 cents cheaper, but now looking at the receipt I see that they didn't. My Total on the receipt is still .97 cents. I forgot I added a filler so that I could use my Up Rewards. You are 100% correct though, there is definitely a difference in the receipt I have printed out and the transaction I watched happen digitally on the little checkout screen

What happens on a BOGO sale is that the first item rings in with your discount because the register doesnt know you are buying that second item. Once the second item is scanned the price on the first one adjusts back to full price and the second item rings up as the BOGO. You see all of this reflected in the store discount line if you watch that on the little CC screen. It drives me bananas that they do it this way as it makes it all but impossible to tell if things are ringing up correctly in real time unless you are super fast at adding, subtracting, re adding, etc.. And of course remembering all the applicable sales and store pricing (which around here varies a lot depending on which store I am in). I dont get how the second $2 Ups made it a MMer though. You spent $6 in Ups plus some cash and got $4 Ups back. Am I missing something? If you call -$2 Ups plus cash OOP a MMer, why wouldnt -$4 Ups plus cash OOP be a MMer? Is there an SCR offer that I am missing? |

I paid $.97 cents out of cash in my pocket and I walked with $4 in Up Rewards to spend later. To me I made some money since I left with more then I spent + soap and candy. If you are counting the $6 ups I spent as money then I guess I spent $2 on my 6 Boxes of dish soap, which Is still a good deal, I'm just not in the habit of counting my Ups as cash yet I guess.

| 2 / $2 Up Rewards Printed. I was only expecting one The $4 in Up rewarded turned this into a little MM for me You are reading a lot more into that than what I said. It was the part about you saying the second, unexpected Up made it the MMer that was confusing me. You still would have left paying $1 OOP and getting $2 Ups back if you hadnt received the second $2 Ups so still a MMer by your definition. So I figured I must have missed an SCR offer or some other rebate that made the transaction a MMer, including the Ups lost since it was the bonus $2 Ups that made it a MMer or at least that was how I was interpreting the above quote. I am truly sorry if I made you feel bad. That wasnt my intention, I just wanted to know what I was missing so I could do the deal too if it would work out well for me. We all face enough trials out irl, if I came off as anything other than 100% supportive of you then I apologize. Sometimes it is hard to read the full intention of what is said on line. I really hope anything I said doesnt keep you from sharing in the future. |

It wasn't just you, Or just to me, I was just speaking from reading around. Doesn't help that I'm grumpy with a sick baby that hasn't let me sleep, so I guess I just took what you said wrong. I feel like a pooh head now (as my kids would say) Sorry I grumped at you.

It helps me a lot to just assume that something else is going on with that other person that has nothing to do with me, or my post. I get offended a whole lot less when I remember to look at the on line world that way. FWIW, I dont consider coming out ahead Ups as a MMer even though it seems most do. I leave store rewards out of it, the only thing that matters in my calculations is what my bank account says. Luckily RA has the SCR program so it is usually possible to recoup your OOP back, maybe even a little extra, most months. We all calculate what makes a MMer differently. Every so often a 'what do you consider a MMer' thread comes along and I find it fascinating all the different little ways we look at it. I dont see any system as perfect but as long as we are all saving money, who cares?!? PS--I should have said this initially but I was concerned about the dealie I might be missing--great job! |
