So I went to the Rite Aid last night to do a few purchases....

Misery ensues...

I wanted a 4 pack of Ensure, and since I was abiding by the rules of the coupons I only use one purchase...

Ensure is $6.99 (6.79w/ 20%disc.)
So I used a $3/(1 four-pack), $1 Ensure (Jan VV), $1 off on purchase of $1+
(-5 total)

So after arguing with the manager why my $1 off 1 was not a coupon for a specific item
(gah I wasn't done AFC!)
but for the whole purchase, she finally agreed to use it...

Suddenly, my VVs wouldn't scan so I asked her to type them in. She said no.

So I said - "Let me scan them then."

One point and beep (beep as in taken).
This went on for the total of SIX more purchases. I like the $1 off $1 coupon alot. Really

They all beeped (as in taken), the Ensure $1s beeped, and so did the $1 off $1...
And then she kind of said something like you think you are better than me huh. :x

So my question is now, are they doing something in the method which they scan the VVs so they can avoid taking them at all costs?

Hmmm never had that happen to me, she probably put her finger in front of the barcode to prove you wrong. Sounds like she has a slight chip on her shoulder and isn't very coupon friendly.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experiance.
I've never had a problem with my VV scanning.

Okay I see were the problem was... Your VVs were the issue here.... It is suppose to be one vv... I do know that some people have several accounts... And let me tell you this is frowned on by Rite Aid... They are going to start doing what CVS is doing coupons that are tied to your card....
Managers are very picky about this... Rite Aid coupons come off the bottom line of the stores sales... Man Qs are not... Because Rite Aid gets the money back on these... It is the Managers bottom line that he or she was trying to protect...

The Manager at my store is very nice... No problem using coupons or ups... He explained to me how it works... And I can feel for him as much as he can feel for me wanting to get the deals...

I always wondered about that to. I always read about peoples multiple vv coupons. I am only able to get one per item to print. Whenever I ask they always say their husbands and moms, friends accounts. But I thought it was one card per household?? Can I get a card for my boyfriend? Or would that be against policy?

Aren't they always tied to your card? VV's that is? Mine print with my name on it.

To answer yvonnev123 you are allowed more than one card per household. I called customer service and asked this myself before I opened another one for our household. Keep in mind the points are going to be spread on two cards, so the advantage you will get with two cards, will be somewhat lessened without getting to the silver and gold levels in my opinion.

That is not completely true, a lot of RA store Qs are reimbursed by the manu...... FLu Qs and I'm pretty sure VVs are as well and UPs too, I'm not 100% but pretty close.
