Advice on leftover k cups?

I tried googling this but got nowhere ..but I have a huge amount of kcups and our keurig just died on me. I am not planning to replace it because I drink a lot of coffee and my regular coffemaker works just fine. But I dont want to toss out all these kcups. Is it possible to just use the contents like regular ground coffee? I appreciate any and all opinions on this. :-) Thanks!

I do this all the time, with the free samples I receive... I just use a small knife to cut open the cup and dump it into my coffee storage container. It's regular coffee in there, nothing special!

I have the plastic and mesh thingy which makes one cup of coffee- I think I originally found it in the camping section. We travel with it all the time. I use one of the plug in coils to heat the water in a mug and put the coffee in this plastic/mesh thing and a couple minutes later I have a cup of fresh "brewed coffee. The k cups would be GREAT for travel. One could stick them in any nook and cranny left in the suitcase.
