Does stocking up work? You'll just have to buy one-cent stamps to be able to use them in January, right?

No, "Forever" stamps are good forever. If you bought 100 books, and used them for 80 years, they would still be good. 1 stamp now for 44 cents will be worth the same as in 80years when it could cost $23 to mail a letter. But only if you buy the ones specifially called "Forever "stamps

I kept thinking of buying a Hundred pack of Forever Stamps at Costco for the last several weeks and stocking up, so this confirms my gut feeling a rate hike was coming soon.

Thanks so much. I hardly mail anything anymore except coupons and a rare bill or card. My holiday list is dwindling as its cheaper to call people than to mail cards!! Many of my relatives have gone the call route so I have followed. Same goes for some friends believe it or not. Seems we are all cutting our mailing lists .

I want to stock up but mail so little I don't know how many to get. I guess I will have to put my thinking cap on.

Thanks for bumping this up, I hadn't seen it!! I don't use stamps much either, but might be worth picking up another book or two.

Does anyone wonder if eventually, they'll decide the Forever stamps aren't good anymore?
