Are you referring to 'Taro root' as 'arbi'? The ones that itch hands when you peel the skin? You've got a lot of veggies for $2. I wish I had prices like yours.

So far I am under my goal of $22.23 this week. I had 2.23 on a gift card so I kinda cheated but I am still happy. Below is the breakdown. The prices included the coupons used.

1- can of peaches = $0.88
1- Frito lay 20 snack pack = $4.99
2 - Jello puddings - $0.78
2- Lady Speed Sticks - $1
2- Zone Perfect Bar - $1.24
1- Dawn and 1- Softsoap Body Wash = CVS total $1.08
1- Softsoap Body Wash, 1 -Dawn and 1 free Newton product = CVS $0.84
2 - 1 Liter Dasani waters = 0.58

Total budget = $22.23 ($2.23 on a gift card)
Total = $12.64
Remaining $9.59

I still need to buy some chicken wings for the freezer. Most of the items I purchased because they were cheap at good prices.

I have a really good stockpile to start with, I just had a whole hog butchered that is in my freezer, and I have chickens so I always have eggs. That said- $20.00 would be fairly easy for my family of four. Here's my list:

Gallon Milk- $2.58 (aldi's)
Wheat Bread $2.50
Turkey (deli) 1 lb $2.99
Grapes 2lb $1.50 (aldi's)
Strawberries 2-1lb pkg $3.00 (aldi's)
lettuce $2.00
tomatoes $2.00
Boneless skinless chicken tenders $1.69lb x2.5lb= $4.22

For a grand total of $20.79

Right now Kwik Trip gas stations have milk for $2.18 a gallon...plus they do a punch card that every 10 gallons saves you $1.00 on the next one.

Yep. About once a month I can get a deal on eggs, usually $1.99 for 18. We got milk today for $2.99 thx to CVS PM. But for those staples, deals are few and far between.

People talk about a lower cost of living here but in fact nothing is cheap except housing. I have a 3 br 2 ba 2 car garage 1450 sq ft house that would sell for $100-110k right now. Gas, food, all are as high or higher than average. And despite the gov's assertions, most jobs are min wage or less.

At to that 8.25% tax on almost everything and it's ridiculous!

The only stores I have are WM, Wags, CVS, and United.
