Happy to say I only spent $77 on groceries last week. I wanted to stay under $85. I still have to get milk and some fruit tomorrow. That shouldn't be much though. I haven't used any of my drugstore money yet! Groceries- $450 budget ~ $232 left Drugstores- $10 budget (I have a $2 scr coming from Rite Aid this month)

Check in: Started with $300 groceries and $50 stockpile Spent: $26.17 at the Commissary. Let me explain my many trips I have two little ones, work fulltime and go to school full time. My husband is deployed and I dont want to spend money on childcare on the weekends (I want to be with my kids as much as possible too) So I usually make a bunch of little trips throughout the month, either on my lunch break or as long as my kids will behave on the weekends! Today my intention was to stock up on some sale stuff, mainly yoplait yogurt, pads and tampons, and candy. I was able to use the $3/1 Splenda Essential coupons on boxes that were $2.43 I also got M&M's small packages .05 for two. I was lucky to find some Hand sanitizer in the damaged section for a little over a dollar and I had the $1/1 Purex coupon. I usually dont have the time to shop for stockpile stuff, and my kids were over it after about 20 minutes! I was hoping for a sale on Keri lotion and toilet paper, but no such luck, the coupons are good for a while though. With the commissary they have baggers that only work for tips, and since my kids were not being the best, I couldnt bag myself. I had to get $5 cashback to pay the guy $2, so im taking the whole five out of my stockpile budget. Being my first month im loving the restraint this thread is helping me have! I may try next month to budget for gas and other variables too! Hopefully my grocery budget will be less as well. Remaining: Groceries. $110.18 Stockpiling $7.57 Last edited by EStimpert; 08-14-2011 at 04:05 PM. Reason: I cant spell! |

Ok for the month of August I am cutting things back! This is for me (pregnant), DH and my 1 yr old. Groceries: $200 Household: $40 Garage Sales/Misc: $50 I have: Kroger OYNOs: $3 ECBs: $4 RRs: $0 8/1- I spent approx. $50 in groceries for the week which included some meat and eggs stock up. Yesterday I went to walgreens and cvs. Got toilet paper, razor, markers, hair clips, contact solution, cereal, mac and cheese, candy bars (free). Spent $18 at wags, and $3 at CVS. Also bought 2 newspapers- $3.50 8/5- managed to keep out the stores this week. Went to garage sales this morning and bought some home decor items, a crib mattress, books and children's clothing. Also, on Monday I had to pay $3.45 in library fees 8/7- went to Kroger for some freebies and Rite Aid for some needed items like ziplock baggies, dishwashing detergent and deodorant. spent more than I wanted, but will have to do. Bought one newspaper at the grocery store and paid .45 in tax. 8/8- went to Aldi for 2 weeks worth of groceries. Got 4 gallons of milk, 5 dozen eggs, lots of cheese and tons of marked down bell peppers as well as lots of other needed items. I only spent $66! So that will give me room to stockpile next week. 8/10- Ate out at Panera Bread (a complete splurge, but I was having a terrible day after a not so great prenatal appt). Total was $17.50ish 8/11- Stopped by Target today and picked up some items on clearance (maternity pants with the $5/1 Q, and 2 tank tops with the $3/1 Qs) as well as some cheap deodorant with my Suave coupons. Total spent was $4.42. Took this from the clothing budget. Also went to Walgreens for some Keri lotion and more deodorant. Spent $1.30 there. 8/14- Went to CVS for some free items and diapers. Spent $1.30! Also this past weekend, my grandma picked up some $4 room-darkening blinds for us. I got 6, so went just a wee bit over my misc budget. However, they were such a great deal I could not pass it up! My grandpa also gave us some great wood to build a stockpile shelving unit, so we saved the $20 we were going to spend on that! 8/15- Went to Kroger for a couple needed items. Otherwise just bought items for my stockpile including 49 cents Del Monte tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, tortillas, frozen peas, broth as well as some marked down pork chops, cheese and fresh fruit. Spent $37. Remaining: Groceries: $27 Household: $0 Garage Sales/Misc: $0 Eating Out: $3. Kroger OYNO: $0 ECBs: $5 RRs: $7 UPRs: $2.00 Kohl's Giftcard: $10.00
