Ways to save for a disney vacay?
I already got an awesome deal for my kiddo to eat breakfast with disney characters. I got 100$ worth of gift cards for $8.00. But I would really like discounts for park passes, events, etc. we dont need hotel or flight etc as we are driving and staying at my moms time share. Anyone have any suggestions?

Please DO NOT - get tickets from one of those places that advertises discounted Disney tickets. They are usually Florida resident passes or partially used passes and you will not be able to use them. If you are curious you can look on http://www.orlandosentinel.com and just search for Disney ticket stories and see the recent arrests. IF you are a Florida resident (and have a Florida ID or DL) you can get those passes and they are cheaper (not much though). Just please avoid buying used or partially used tickets since they are not useable at the parks and they will kindly escort you back to the ticket counters to purchase new tickets.

![]() Does your mom know anyone that works in the parks? A relative or friend, (or even friend of a friend) can get you into the park for free. Something we often do (we are a family of 3) is my cousins will get us in the park for free (it is part of their employer perks) and then we take them out to dinner wherever they want. Its definitely cheaper than the ticket prices. Also, consider this if you are going to buy tix. If you will be in the timeshare for 7 days, you may not wanna go to Disney each and every day. It can be exhausting. Consider getting a pass for maybe 5 days not 7 and have 2 days to relax by the pool, check out the outlets nearby, or just veg. Whenever I bought tix I felt *compelled* to use up every possible second and it was tiring. |

Research the nearest grocery stores to where you are staying and take your q's with you!! Buy groceries since you'll be staying in a timeshare and make and take your lunches with you to the parks each day. We saved $100's by doing this in February. Also meal plan for dinners too. We went out for two special dinners and we also ate with the characters at the Crystal Palace but the rest of the time we ate in our timeshare. And since you're driving, take things from your stockpile for your meals and snacks.

Also go check out other stuff in the area - Ok here is my ad for my uncles business - Go check out Old Town on 192 they have lots of shops and on Saturday afternoon & Saturday evening they have a classic car show & cruise every week. Go check out Big Kahuna's for a burger & fries and there should be his new Sweet Dreams Ice Cream Cafe open by then. Ok advertising over. LOL |

What a phenomenal idea for her! We LOVE Old Town! And they have go kart racing right next to it! My daughter was hesitant at first but once she got in and hit the pedal, all we saw was her dust! We are part of the Disney Vacation Club- but this is the first year we aren't going down there. :-( |

Do you have a family member who is in active military or 100% disabled? There's a deal going on for really cheap tickets if you do. Check out shadesofgreen.org. We went a couple of years ago w/my parents. Spent $400 for tickets for our family of 4 for 5 days. Otherwise we would never be able to afford Disney. You can also take food into the parks...saved us a ton!

If you sign up for the vacation info at their site and continue to visit and sign in they will start sending you mailers. Among those they will eventually send you a sign up for disney visa get $200 in Disney GCs. I HATE credit cards but if you have a good credit score and are not worried about opening a new account and are disciplined and can have it without running it up then I think its a great way to make $200. They will send you $50 offer then $100 offer ect just hold out they will eventually send you the $200 offer. Ive read on the DIS that you are aloud to have 4 cards per person but I have only signed up for one but I got my 3rd invite yesterday and I think I will send it in. I skipped the 2nd one they sent me. But since my Disney fund is not where I would like it to be I am thinking highly of signing up again. But my credit score was really great and were getting ready to buy a home so Im a lil hesistent. Another thing is if you see your grocery stores doing a buy x GC get x GC free check to see if they have Disney ones. Those can be used at the park or on hotels ect. If your stores allow overage or allows OYNOs to be used on GC (some restrict some dont check first) use that on the GCs too. |

Sign up for continental airlines credit card and then once you get card add someone to account this will give you enough points for a free domestic flight. My hubby and I both did this. Plus they give you a free $50 dollar credit so u can charge fifty at Disney and have it taken care of! Great deal
