Wags has Cottonelle 12 Big rolls for $5 and CVS has 20 Double rolls for $8.88 after ECBs. Does anyone know the difference to know which is the better deal?

I hope someone has the answer, because I would love to know too. TP is one thing I can never manage to calculate unit price on.

The 20pk double rolls from CVS contains 718 sqft for $8.88. Or it costs 0.0124 per square foot. If you print off $1 coupon the cost is 0.0110 per sqft. If you use the $.50 coupon available (12-13 ss): 0.0112. If someone who has purchased the big rolls from Wags will post the sqft we can calculate the better price.

It's pretty easy to get the base price for toilet paper and paper towels. First of all, if you're just starting out, group the types: With toilet paper: 1 ply and 2 ply groups. Paper Towels: 1 ply and 2 ply, then Select-A-Size or Standard sheets since the Select Sizes are 5" smaller than Standard. 1. Get the prices per sheet: Let's say this pack has 4 rolls and each roll has 125 sheets. Multiply them: 4 X 125 = 500 2. Divide the price by quantity: 3.99 / 500 = .00798 This means each sheet costs .00798 (or .0080) If you want to know how much per thousand sheets, just multiply it: .00798 X 1000 = 7.98 per thousand sheets. You now have 2 ways of checking price: by the sheet or by the thousand sheets. |

This is very unscientific but last time i bought the $5 Cottonelle pack from WAGS I felt like the rolls were a little skimpy and didn't last as long as the big double/triple rolls

Cottenelle Big vs Double Roll Quote:
I checked double roll pack and they have 230 sheets per roll, 2760 sheets per 12 roll pack. Any thing less than $8.28 for a 12 pack of double rolls is a better deal than $5 for a 12 pack of big rolls I just rec'd the following info from Kimberly-Clark customer care: "The COTTONELLE CLEAN CARE* toilet paper comes in four different roll sizes. The big roll has 165 sheets, the double roll has has 230 sheets, the large roll has 138 sheets and the giant roll has 260 sheets." What I bought today was 12 "large" rolls, not "big" rolls, so my comparison above is large rolls vs. double rolls. VERY CONFUSING, probably on purpose. Walgreens $5 for 12 large rolls
In big type, at the top: Wow! Only $5 Less than 42¢ per roll then, at the bottom, the small print says: 113 2-ply sheets per roll 4.2 x 4.0 in. (10.6 x 10.1 cm) 157.2 sq. ft. (14.4 m2) So thats $0.00265/sq ft at Walgreens Wow $5 package price. Also seems that the Walgreens large rolls vary in size from time to time. |

wow never though that verytime i wipe my hiney i use about 10 squares ie:30 cents (.03 x10) if there are 6 o us and we all do he dooty, pardon the pun, at least once a day thats $1.80 a day, we really heed to work on that and get our sqare to dooty ratio down at least by 75 % in order for me to feel like we can afford to do a dootie everyday or...only go every fourth day.. thats more affordable!!! ![]() |

Don't forget that the Walgreens WOW $5 12 packs are 2 diffferent kinds (blue package=single ply and purple package=2 ply) also take into consideration that these have a $1/1 WAGS coupon to use on so the 12 packs now come down to $4 and if you have the $1/1 Any Cottonelle peelies that were available a while back, you are now down to $3 for a 12 pack.even at 0.0265 for the double ply and 0.0217 for the single ply if you use both a WAGS and a Mnfctr Q. I have a years supply of different kinds and the way that I figured it out was that we (we are now down to 2 adults, 3 teenagers) used 1 roll of toilet paper a day, which meant that I needed roughly 365 rolls of toilet paper a day, or 31 12-packs which usually lasts me about a year. Since this is my last year of nursing school, it will be a huge relief to not have to worry about anything at all for a whole year...my husband is now finishing up the extra storage room he built me and will post pics of my finished 1 year stockpile when he's done in about 3 days!!
