| Great trip.... Very rude Store Manager!!
Here is a summary of my transactions and the run in with the rude manager. I started off with my usual cashier, an older lady that is a sweetheart and gladly works with me on my deals. She always talks to my daughter and is just plain nice. Transaction 1 1 Colgate toothpaste 4 ounce 2.99 1 Wisp Flameless Candle 7.99 1 Clean and Clear Morning Burst 6.99 -5.00 5/15 coupon -1.00 Colgate -2.00 Clean and clear -5.00 Wisp -4.00 ECB OOP .97 with tax 1.80 My new ECB for my toothpaste didn't print so when I asked about it, she called the manager who fixed it and went on to my 2nd transaction. Transaction2 2 clean and clear morning burst 6.99 each 2 glade aerosol cans .99 each 4 pencils 4/.50 -5.00 5/15 CVS coupon -4.00 2 at 2.00 off clean and clear -1.00 1.00 off glad aerosol -5.98 ECB OOP .48 with tax .99 At the end of this transaction he kinda was looking like I was scamming him by using coupons. He then questioned all of my coupons, asked me where I got them and if they were printed of photocopied. I explained that I printed them off the computer and they were all origianls. My moms computer prints in color and mine in black and white so I think that is why he thought I copied them. He then said something to the fact of , well we need to make some money here too then went on the transaction 3. Transaction3 1 Bic Soleil Razor 5.99 2 Bic Soleil Refill 5.99 each 4 pencils 4/.50 -5.00 CVS coupon 5/15 -6.00 Bic Soleil 2.00 off Razor or refill -5.00 ECB -1.98 ECB OOP .50 with tax 1.10 By the end of this one he was pretty pissed and was getting frustrated, he rudely asked how many more i had and I told him only two and asked if there was a problem. He said no and kept going. Transaction 4 On this one he was throwing my stuff in the bags and very irratated at my savings. He again said how are we supposed to make money when people like you come here and do this. I told him that he was still getting the money from the manufacturers for the coupons and that it was just saving me money and that I am on a limited budget so I do what I can to get by. Not like i'm stealing it right... 1 Dove Skin Vitalizer 9.99 1 Bic Soleil Refill 5.99 -5.00 5/15 CVS coupon -2.00 Bic Soleil -3.50 Dove Coupon -2.00 ECB -2.99 ECB OOP .49 with tax 1.04 Transaction 5 On this one he accidentally scanned my other card and questioned why I had 2 cards. I told him that one was for another store and that I use this one here. He then took my key chain off the counter, took the other card off and told me he would take care of it and threw it away. He said you are only allowed to have 1 per customer. Now I'm mad. 2 Dove Body Wash Creamy Oil 10 oz 3.99 each 1 Lady Speed Stick Deoderant 1.99 1 Viva Paper towels 6.49 1 Lipbalm -5.00 CVS coupon 5/15 -4.00 2 off Dove x2 -0.50 Viva Paper towels -1.98 ECB -2.00ECB -3.00 ECB OOP .97 with tax 1.48 Total out of pocket was 6.41 Total saved was 101.62 New ECB earned 17.00 Not bad for a days work I will not go back to him even if he is the only one there, I'll just go back to the other lady. How rude of him. But I still got all my deals done and saved a ton, so I'm happy!! |

Great deals!! "well we need to make some money here too then went on the transaction 3." Why don't these managers realize they ARE making money!? this makes me so mad when I hear them saying this. I can't believe he took your keychain and removed your card!! That is YOUR personal property!! Sounds like this manager failed his "Customer Service" classes!

I think I would be on the phone with customer service demanding a call from that man's district supervisor! Once I got the call from the district supervisor I would ask him what training he provides his managers on mfgr's coupons!! Oh, I am mad just seeing this type of customer service! I worked retail for years (in mgt) and this is ignorance pure plain and simple. Coupn_gal |

Actually, you need to call corporate. He took your personal property and threw it in the trash can. That's actually stealing. That card belongs to YOU, no longer the property of CVS. UGHHH that makes me so mad for you! I'd call and complain to corp. and say that you could have called the police, but chose not to make a scene. Betcha next time that manager wont be there or will have a different attutide! Jennifer |

Rediculous...how many of us have cards that belong to spouses or other family members. He had no idea who that card belonged to. I would call corporate as well, he had not right to throw that card away, let alone take it off your key chain. I would have come unglued on that one.

I def. would NOT complain to corporate. You are only allowed to have one card per person and many of these deals are also one per household. So you shouldn't have a second card. I think it was pretty rude that he threw it in the trash but corporate is really trying to crack down on this. Some people have a lot of cards. (I personally couldn't keep track of them all) and when I called customer service yesterday about some eb she actually asked me how many cards I had. I told her I have one that my husband and I use the same one and she said good that is what the program is intended for and that they are really trying to crack down on people using more then one card (not sure exactly how they plan on doing this). And also I am kind of surprised that the manager would let you do 5 transaction using the same coupon. If you had different coupons I could see but useing that 5/15 5 times in a row he could have refused to continue. I think you should consider yourself lucky and just avoid him from now on. |

I might of been grumpy too if I was the cashier and you had done 5 transactions with the same $5 off $15. At most I've rang up 2 separate transactions. But have not used the same coupons. 1 $5 off $15 and the other a crt for $5 off $30

The second card was a card that my favorite cashier gave me because I thought I lost my old one. She said that I could just transfer all of my stuff from my old one to my new one. I just hadn't got around to doing it due to a miscarriage. I did call today and get both cards put together.

He has no right to take that off your keyring and I would already be on the phone to the district office. CVS policy is to keep the customer happy. I would tell them how upset you were with this treatment. They should make up for it. I know this for a fact. The district manager is the one who will take the heat and it passes downhill. They do not like complaints

I have 2 cards--one is in my name, one in DH's name. Technically I shouldn't. But I'm not going to complain if one is taken away either. (Yesterday a manager asked if I had more than one. I said, I have my husband's and he split up my transaction so I could get 2 Embrace Razors, so obviously YMMV.) Now, the manner in which yours was taken...YES, RUDE! Hello! Like others said, I'd avoid that guy. |

Sorry OP I have to agree with her because 5 transactions at once I am not trying to be rude but you were pushing it....there is a mgr at a store I rarely go to and he advs that they had a meeting on Monday and that corporate is cracking down on multiple cards that are being used. Consider yourself luck for the 5 transactions you got. I understand people husbands, kids who live with them have another card but I believe it's one per household. Quote:

Sorry but I'm going to have to agree with "ahernandez" on this one too. I think having more than one card per household is pushing the policy (even if it is a spouse's card) although that absolutely did NOT give the manager the right to remove your card from the keys and throw it away. I don't think I would report him either because they might suspend you from using the program if they find out you have more than one card. Maybe if you talk to him and explain how you merged the cards and why you had two in the first place he will be more pleasant with you next time...if you have to deal with him because then he won't feel like you are trying to 'cheat' the system.

So sorry for your rude run in with the manager. I asked corp last time i called and you can have more than one card in a household but the deals if they say limit per household that should be done between the two cards. I would either talk to him or his supervisor because no one should be treated like that. You do not have to give your name or card number(s). Good Luck with whatever you do and do not loose sleep over this life is too short to sweat the small stuff.

I don't think the point is whether or not she has more than one card. I personally don't have CVS near me, so thank god! The point is that he touched her PERSONAL property, and that is WRONG. Let's not rag on her about the number of transactions, the problem is that the way she was treated was not acceptable, and I don't care if you have 100 coupons, 100 cards, etc. Common courtesy and customer service are sorely lacking in today's world, and we shouldn't stand for it. No one has the right to treat you like that just because you are trying to save some money. A lot of store personel need to be trained that coupons do NOT make the store loose money. Hang in there, and stand up for your rights, because you have the right to use coupons and save money. Don't put up with that kind of treatment, and that doesn't go for just the OP, but everyone.

Let's not get into an argument or disagreement here. Let's remember to play nice ![]() On that note, I must chime in. I spoke with CVS corp a few months back and again with a mgr only a few weeks ago about this very subject. There is nothing against policy about having more than one card. From what I was told, this is why there is a difference in sales/ECB deals. Some are "per card" some are "per household" and others are "per cardholder". You can have a card for every member of your family if you would like. I, myself, have 2 in my name. Granted, I only use one and keep the other incase there is an incredible deal going on... but I won't lie about it. My Dh has one as well. When I lived with my parents, my sister had one, my mother had one and I had one. The only reason I asked the CSR about this was because a member had said it was "illegal" and I wanted to be sure I was not doing anything illegal. The only thing the OP would be doing against policy here was getting those deals more than once that were "per household" or "per cardholder". If the deals were "per card" she would have been fine. HTH! And, please, no backlash! I don't want to argue. Just want to state policy. To each his own
