Head and Shoulders... Not a glitch?

Why so I have a feeling that CVS knew exactly what they were doing with this sale. Like they knew the coupon would take off the full price. Just like the aveeno "mistake" last year with the ecbs. I just feel and (hope) its like rewarding us couponers.

It's like they know what coupons are coming out. Why is the $5.99 in sale and not the $7.99 + if that's not the case?

CVS has no imput on this particular situation... The coupon is produced by and coded by P&G... I just think there was a coding error that causes the coupons to auto-deduct...!!!

So, is it okay? right, legal, un-moral to go to cvs and get H&S here just because the auto deduction occurs? I haven't tried the other drug stores with this q.....but at Kmart, the Q took off the correct amount. Were probably going to hear something down the line here.

I was able to already do the deal with the gas card, 2 days before the 7/1P&Gs came out, and seeing that I only paid tax and was given a $10 gas card was a prime example. Who would of not taken advantage of that?

CVS is not "rewarding" you. The aveeno ecb wasn't a reward either. They just held up to it because the ad said "any aveeno" and not select. Mistake on their part. It's just the coupon is auto deducting on some registers. CVS can actually get in trouble for not adjusting to the right price. Some cashiers don't know coupons so they don't care.

The last part of ur post says it all "taken advantage" I mean I'm not the coupon police... But we all know that there is something off about this coupon... And I for one can answer your question and tell you that I haven't/won't take advantage of this "deal"

Exactly this.

Also I see no one saying "Must not have wanted us to use the Skittles since they all beep, I won't be using it." People always want to justify what works in their advantage.

But what do u do if they do say its ok that its scanned at the 9.49? I havent tried where im at but im plannin on going tomorrow. It isnt the customers fault if they are told they shouldnt ring up that way and the cashier lets it go anyways. Im sorry to be this way but yes i would most def. get a few more. Because they now know they should change the price but still either 1. Dont care. And if u dont care then prob. Shouldnt work there or 2) know they get that value back. Right?

I haven't done the H&S deal, but yea if they told me it's fine, I would remind them that CVS possibly would not get reimbursed.

But let me ask something in return. Do you agree with a cashier who is wrongfully giving you less money off than the Q says? Or would you fight for the rightful amount? Like those who had problem with the Skittles Q. Did anyone say to cashier "Hey just let me pay cash cause this Q isn't working right." Nope, we know how the Q should work and we ask for the discount to be given to us. Or as some people did, just cancel the transaction.

Myself I would correct the issue over them giving me less than what Q says, so yes I would correct them for giving me the wrong amount here too. Many times I have gone in with P&G razor Q with value of $12.99 and they try to give me the whole $13.29. I remind them of how much I should actually get taken off.

Do you think that if these kinds of mistakes cost us couponers in the long run? I do. Recently my CVS has been going through all Q's like hawks. I can;t help but think someone came in and screwed them over with wrongful Q usage. When cashier doesn't care, it doesn't make it right. We are the Q users and therefor it is up to US (not them) to keep our couponing legit. After all, we will suffer, not them.

You are very right. But in a sense its also the stores responsibility to understand the way the coupons work. But if they are told by us couponers they are ringing up wrong and still say its ok that it does that then what? Do we stand and argue with that? Even tho if its explained to them buy us ? Im not trying to be a butthead im trying to learn i guess on how to handle things like these. I have a 3 yr old who has to ask those 200 questions when u are trying to focus . So i try to take advise of the older couponers so i can handle the situation ina timely manner without having to wait and wait as we all know it never fails when u have q's its like everyone has to checkout rite then. I understand we are going to suffer in the long run. But in my opinion only an (opinion) it kinda makes it bad when its posted on the site by couponers because we are all humans andwe are thinking wonder if it does it here? Does that make since what im gettin at there? There is alot that if wasnt said noonewould do . Im thankful you are here to answer my question because i truelly love couponing but like i said would love to know how to handle situations when they occur at checkout. Btw thanks for answering to me. :-))))

My lady voided the Q and gave me the 6.29 off before I could say anything. (My store seems a little more expensive)

I got head and shoulders at 4 diff cvs's around me and I would never use a coupon wrong on perpose BUT when they tell me they are not going to change them or were told not to change them I am not going to stand there and argue with them about it and knowing that I did the right thing and thats what they wanted to do I was still really happy about it.

People people people this thread was meant as a joke. I just fund it peculiar. In Ni means did I imply for us to purposely use them wrong. Wow. I didn't think it would get so much debate. And side note again with the aveeno doesn't anybody proof read their ads before they go out?

I agree and I actually did take the skittles q out when it didn't work, I hadn't read about any issues and assumed I read it wrong and maybe grabbed the wrong size or something. When the h&s scanned I told her to cover one barcode or key it in manually. Sometimes its just not worth the deal if it may eventually ruin my relationship with my cashiers, they trust me and I trust them. Case in point I got a rc on pf eyeliner last week just the price because the didn't have a single eyeliner last week, somehow I misplaced it :/ when I went back this week I told my fave cashiers how I lost his rc and have been so s atterbrained lately, he offered to rewrite it I said no way wouldn't want to get him in trouble ... when I got home I was going over my receipts and qs organizing everything, and I found a new rc, he must've written it when I was gathering things for my second transaction . Just proves he trusts me and made me feel good. That's just my 2 cents.

I haven't been able to use this.coupon. Before I even check out the cashier let me know how the coupon works. The coupon is being used incorrectly. It says "up to 9.49" on the coupon so unless your head and shoulders is ringing up 9.49 each you are committing coupon fraud by getting that full amount.

Just a thought... Would they or could they ever check the incorrect coupon use to your Cvs card? Just thinking if it became a big issue I would think they could track who used them through the card, right? Just want people's thoughts not trying to start a war

Well to me it looks like the reason the coupon is auto deducting the full amount is because of a mistake made when P&G created the coupon.. so it's their fault and they will figure that out when they are reimbursing CVS for the full amount.. I'm not saying its right or it's wrong. I did use one coupon and one coupon only which did take off the full amount and my cashier, who normally knows how to fix it, said she couldn't change it. So who knows

Of course it is safe to assume that P&G made a mistake... But why take advantage of it... Its not worth it... There will no doubt be tons of free/mm shampoos in the future... There always are... But I guess for some the temptation is to strong...!!! Don't get me wrong I'm all about saving money and finding a good deal...!!! I however am not down with working the system over just for my own selfish needs...!!! Its doesn't so much bother me that ppl are getting them free/mm (it does a little bit) what bothers me most is that ppl have the nerves to demand full deductions or be upset when their store adjust downs the coupon... Like your not intitled to a full deduction... I have read far to many post about ppl getting upset and saying when the cashier adjusted my qs down I took the H&S off...!!! Smh

I don't think p and g made a mistake. I think its just cvs registers. I don't know of any other place you can use this coupon incorrectly. Everywhere else it is asking the cashier to enter the amount to be taken off like it is supposed to do. That's why everyone is taking advantage if cvs system .
