I went to CVS a little while ago to pick up a razor... There was a huge line and he rang it up.. 9.99..I handed him a $2/10 out of habit before I could think that he sholdn't really accept it.. anyway, it went through.. the rest of the trans went like this..
9.99 -2.00 =7.99
I gave him a 3.99 ECB = 4.00
I handed him a 4.00 ECB = 0.00

Immediately, this song went off on the register ....in beeps ...I was half thinkign it was going to tell me I had won something.. it was a weird, totally messed up transaction ...oh well!

are you talking about the beeps right before the receipt prints? if so for some reason the register does this if ECBs are printed..so basically it is like hitting the jackpot!

It was right before my receipt printed, but I have NEVER heard it like that .. it was so funny, and I only got a measly $2 off theraflu print, so its not like it was something special.. I have no idea

I think the beeps is to alert the cashiers, that there is a ecb or Q's printing at the end of the receipt. So.. they don't jerk the receipt off b4 it finish printing.
