| My Job to Train the Cashiers?
Went to CVS today to pick up a prescription and decided to do the Revlon deal. I bought: Revlon Lip Gloss 7.99 Revlon Eyelines 7.49 4 Reese's PB Cups x .79 = 3.16 4 Schick Razors x 1.29 = 5.16 1 Herbal Essance Shampoo 3.00 I used: 1 5/25 CRT 2 -1 Revlon Color 2 BOGO Reese's 4 -1 Schick Disposables 1 -1 Herbal Essance (I had the BOGO coupons, but they were completely out of Herbal Essance styling products )$10 ECB My total was around 3.00 and I earned $7 in ECB's. ****KIND OF A RANT. STOP READING HERE IF YOU ARE JUST INTERESTED IN HEARING ABOUT THE DEAL*** I had my reusable bag with me, handed it to the cashier and pointed out the bag tag swipe "leaf" hanging from it. She completed my transaction and I asked her, "Are you sure you swiped my bag tag?". Well, she had no idea what I was talking about. I showed her the tag on my bag again and grabbed one of the tags that were available for purchase and hanging right by the register. She looked at it and went on and on about how she only works part-time, and she can't be expected to know about all of these things, etc. It was quite a tirade! Then she looked at me and said, "Well, you should have told me". What?!? What exactlly did she think I was talking about when I pointed to the tag on my bag and told her, "I have this"? I had no problem with her not knowing. I've worked part-time in retail and I know how a lot of the information doesn't always trickle down to the part-time staff. It was that she was blaming me, the customer, for her not knowing! When I asked her if there was anything we could do about the tag not being swiped she said she would have to cancel my entire order and rering it. Ugh. I almost decided to forget about it, but then my stubborness kicked in. I paid for this tag and it's not my fault that she didn't know about it (though she certainly tried to make me feel like it was). She called for a manager, and he was very pleasant. He said it wasn't a problem, he would just return everything and rering it with the coupons and swipe the tag. I looked at him and said, "Couldn't you just ring up a candy bar, swipe the bag tag, and then return the candy bar?" (I wasn't a manager in retail for almost 20 years without learning a trick or two). So that's exactly what he did. Unfortunately, he forgot to return my receipt, but fortunately he had already torn off my $7 ECB's and handed them to me. ***END OF RANT*** Last edited by CouponDoula; 10-21-2009 at 04:57 PM. |

I'm glad you got your tag scanned, too. I bought mine last Saturday night at one location, and used it Sunday morning at another location. The store I tried to use it at didn't even have them for sale yet, and she didn't know how to scan it. She kept scanning and scanning, and nothing. She rang up my order, called the Mgr, and he walked up and scanned the tag before I paid. She needed to scan at least one item BEFORE the tag. We both laughed!
