I have the best cashier ever. She is always really friendly and she just adores all 3 of my little ones. I had gone in a few weeks ago looking for the CVS RIB coupons that you could get at some CVS stores that were without the magazines so u did not have to pay for them. They did not have them. Well, I went in today and she tells me that she had gone to another CVS and they had them so she picked me up one. That was just so nice!!!

Yes, that was nice of her. But what is the criteria they use for providing those coupons outside the magazine? One of my stores has them once in a while, and the others never. So is it store manager discretion? Magazines not moving so rip out the coupons?

The stores that get these elusive coupons get them sent in a stack and they put them out, along with the magazines (no ripping them out of the magazines) Because these coupons are free for the taking, they go VERY fast.

They come in a bundle pk of about 25 a set of coupons and a set of mags, and yes the coupons do move a lot faster then the books do.

I love my cashier. Whenever she had to force print an ECB, say $8 worth, she will print four $1 and two $2 because she knows I can do my deals better if I have some "change." How cool is that?

I was so surprised the other day at a CVS store that I don't go often. I usually hand my EBs before the MfgQs so I can dig into the hefty sales tax, and on this day I was gonna buy something then I changed my mind and I forgot to take it out of my total so I gave the cashier more EBs than due. I thought he was just gonna adjust it down, and I'd lose out on that. But after the transaction was done, he scanned my receipt again and force print an EB for the difference! I was totally amazed they could do that! I've never had this before! You'll know where I'd be shopping next time!

You know, I've NEVER thought of handing the ECBs over before the MQs! DOH! Granted, I cut it pretty darned close anyways with them and rarely pay more than $1.50 in cash (which I pay out of a ziplock baggie of change) but still... every bit counts!

You are not suppose to hand over ECB before MQ coupons. By doing this the cashier is pushing a button as the machine does beep as I have done this before. Some cashier will start the whole transcation over. Just a shame that people look to not do it the right way As your ecb is like cash and not a coupons. If your at another store you don't give them cash before you give coupons.

There's one CVS store manager that ALWAYS insists that I give my EBs to him first, so just in case I have him ring up my transactions again, I try to be prepared in advance how much EBs I'm to use for my order and always give them that first, and have been doing that for a long time now. I don't recall any problems doing just that. And using your words, if EBs are like cash, why can't we pay tax with it? I went over the wording on my EBs, and they don't say I can't pay tax with it. They are not like RRs which clearly say they are Mfr cpns, and therefore I use instead cash to pay the tax. I tried emailing CVS regarding how I never used to have to pay tax on the portion that I paid with EBs before, sadly I never heard from them. If there's a written rule about how we are not supposed to do this, I'd be more than happy to oblige. But I don't know of one. So I go by the register; if the register takes it w/o overriding, I take it as an "yes".
