I stopped in to pick up a few things and use up some ECBs that are expiring.
My favorite cashier was there and I said and went about my shopping. When I went to check out, he asked if I knew the manager. I said I wasn't sure, I had dealt with a few managers. He described the store manager and I said I did know the manager.
He then explained that after my last trip, the manager had asked him if I paid. He said "Ofcourse" and the manager explained that he wanted to know if I used a lot of coupons and the cashier said "yes". The manager then told him to watch me closely because I have too many coupons.
I laughed and explained that they make extra money off of every coupon and that I would never intentionally give an incorrect coupon. The cashier said that he knew my coupons were for the right items and he knows there is no problem. I told him that next time I am shopping and the manager is there, he should call him over to check me out and inspect my coupons. I also said I want to make sure that I do not get him in trouble. He just laughed off the whole thing!

I am so amused by the whole thing. I really want the manager to follow me around and check up on me to see that I am a law abiding CVS shopper who knows how to use coupons legitimately and properly to get a good deal!
I can't wait to head in later this week and try to get some Dawn Hand renewal FREE with my "too many coupons"!

I have a cashier that follows me down each aisle pretending to "dust" - too funny.

I tell my kids that it's legalized shoplifting...the only thing that keeps me out of jail is stopping by the register with my colorful pieces of paper. My daughter laughs and says it's like paying with monopoly money only they're coupons.

The CVS I shop at freaked out the first time i came in and used my coupons. they had just switched over from longs and the cashier wouldn't let me leave till she got approval from her manager for my total. it went from about 25 dollars to about 4. i was proud and the manager thought it was awesome. i just laughed about the whole thing!

If that ever happens to me, I will walk in and ask to get the manager, and then ask the manager to shop with me. And then i would let him look at each coupon and item as i put it in the cart. After one trip of with me, I guarantee he would not be watching me anymore.........

Nobody has said anything to me yet but this is a tiny town and very few people use coupons so I get strange looks when I pay less than a dollar for $20 worth of stuff or more.

That is a very funny story. I was in Walgreens yesterday, passing time while my daughter was at the doctor, and had employees "dusting" everywhere I went. I didn't give it much thought because the store was very slow, it was cold and rainy. I didn't buy anything, all the clearance was gone, so I got my coupons and purse and walked out the door. I stopped suddenly once outside because it was raining very hard and needed to get my keys out. Well, I was nearly run over by the manager, who just happened to be "checking for carts" in the parking lot. The poor guy was so embarrassed!!! It took all I had to not burst out laughing until I got in the car. I wonder how many times he goes looking for carts in the pouring rain? Maybe next time I will ask him to carry an umbrella for me.

How obnoxious. I had a CVS clerk freak out when I was there one day because loss prevention was there?!?!?!?! Like I am stealing? He also accused me of having more than 1 card. I too feel like people are "watching" me because I get so much stuff for next to nothing.

I had a real experience today, it had nothing to do with the manager following me, but the manager going off on me because of my coupons.
I don't mean to take over this post but I can't start a new topic yet, because I have not posted enough.
Ok I went to safeway because they had some things on sale that i wanted.
I took the time to make sure i bought exactly what my coupons were for.
Well get up to the check out and the manager was there.
He saw that I had 2 coupons for the crystal light $2/2 (2)
so i had 4 sitting there, I also have 2 buy 1 get 1 free of there john morrell off the bone lunch meat, had 4 sitting there.
2 packages of their Johnsonville brats, $3.99 each, i have 2 $1 off coupons.
I also had some other things there 2.
To make a long story short, the manager told the cashier that I could only use 1 coupon per purchase and that it was corporates rule. I called corporate while still in the store.

I too, have had those "dusting employees" follow me around and also sometimes if I have some time to do so, I go from store to store looking for blinkies and tearpads to keep and trade, well they REALLY don't like it when you start walking around the store sticking stuff (coupons) in your purse. I am always very courteous and never take more than 4 or 5 at a time but I do get some not so nice looks when I'm doing that.

1 thing i can't seem to understand is why do the managers and the cashiers get so frustrated and mad at us when we use coupons?
I mean they are legal and we are not stealing, if they were not legal, then why would companies make them?

My cashier at walgreens two days ago also gave me an attitude about my coupons and had to call the manager over for a question. While i was STILL at the register she told the manager that she "just got a headache"! Not very nice customer service.

Everytime I shop at this one WAGs if this manager is working, he follows me EVERYWHERE. It's getting a little annoying really. It's even worse because he's very obvious about. Doesn't even pretend to stock or dust or anything. Just stays 3 feet behind me. Some times if I'm not in the mood for it I'll ask him where I can find everything on my list. Even if I know where it all is, I figure I may as well keep him busy. At least then he's got a good excuse for following me.

There's no such thing as "too many coupons".......that's like being diagnosed with a disease that doesn't exist!!!!
