Ok so I had managed to trade for one of the infamous $5/2 CVS duracell q's and I got it on Saturday just in time for the sale, yay! So here's what I did first:
8pk AA 5.99
2 8pks D 9.99 x2 (I have a new baby & EVERYTHING uses D batteries!)
j&j first aid kit .99
newspaper $2 (needed a filler + wanted another duracell q)

I had the $5/2, $1/1 duracell x3, $1 j&j from diabetes book

I didn't have any ecb's so total oop=21.71 but got $15 ecb back

*totally forgot about the free l'oreal on this trip

So then I remebered about the l'oreal and decided to go to a different CVS. The woman who walked in right before me took the last one but told me to go ask for a raincheck. Well, that messed up everything. I was planning on getting the l'oreal for 15.99, I have a $1 q, and would have used the $15 ecb from duracell to have 0 oop and get 15.99 ecb back. Instead I got:
2 glade candles 2/$5
glade oil refill with free warmer 2.99
glade oil warmer 2.99
rib mag .99

I had $1.50/2 glade candles & buy a refill get warmer free q (the cashier didn't feel like figuring out how much the warmer cost so he took off the whole 4.99 even though it was on sale). I didn't get anymore batteries because I am waiting for another $5/2 from another trade I made and I only got the rib mag because my usual store never seems to have them.

total oop this trip 6.44, $5 ecb back. I also asked for the raincheck and he told me that he didn't know if he could give me one because they hadn't done it all day (well, maybe that's because they still had one when I walked in the store I just didn't get there fast enough) but told me to come back on Thursday when they get more in.

So I spent a lot more oop then I wanted to but I'm still just getting the hang of cvs (this is only trips 3 & 4 for me). Oh yea, and I grabbed 5 more of the diabetes books too.

Good job! When I first started I spent alot out of pocket before I really started to get the hang of it. My CVS seems to never have the RIB books or the diabetes book. Although they do tend to have everything in stock except for the toothpaste which took forever for them to get back in on the shelves!
