I wanted to start this thread so that everyone can post reviews on items, cheap meals, favorite brands and why, etc. Ok so here are my tidbits: Instead of buying the thick pork chops i buy the scallopinni. These are the really thin pork chops, they thaw and cook and little to no time. and they cost under $3/pack. ![]() I have recently started buying whole pineapple instead of buying canned pineapple, it ends up being the same price pretty much and healthier. When buying meats I look at every price and get the lowest price. For example today I went through all the ribs and found a $6.52 pack instead of buying the $8-$9 pack. I also found a scalloppinni pack for under $2 as well. I budget to buy $5-$10 worth of meats everytime I go to the commy. Thanks to commy prices I recently invested in an upright deep freezer. It was my best food investment. Now I can rack up on all the frozen food deals. I use lysol wipes instead of napkins when cleaning to save me tons on napkins. They are usually priced1.99 or under Ok ladies and gents now your turn. |

I love those ideas... Not only do I buy the thinner chops but because you can get 6-7 of them in 1 pack I split the packs up. lately, I have been ale to get them for under $2. We definitely need a deep freezer. It is on my wish list. Now as for a recipe, I tend to look on the side of the cereal boxes for recipes. The kids and I made our one rice crispy treats with a twist. Instead of using rice crispies we used lucky charms. |

Doesn't the commissary carry Tyson and Purdue chicken? The Purdue at least is not supposed to have any additives in it. (no hormones, no added salt solution, etc.) I don't know about the beef and pork.

| Yes the commy carries both Tyson and Perdue. is there any way to know for sure if the meats do/don't have any additives?

I would be interested in knowing if the Angus beef hotdogs have the same nitrates in it or not. |
