Why wouldnt she allow you your overage? it is actually in DECA's policy that they HAVE to give you the overage!

I got the overage the other day with mine!!!!!

Really? She said she couldn't. But then she did when the overage was only a couple cents, but not when it was a couple dollars! Now I am mad!

The pizza was 4.99 but I had a 6 dollar off coupon.

WOW! Now Im even more excited after finding some Q's!

Mind me asking how much these items were?

Cheez its were 3.14 for the white cheddar. I believe there was a box that was like 2.86 though.

Bagel bites are only 1.00!!!! See how much less my OOP would have been if she gave me the overage!

Offered IMHO and from personal experience, for what it's worth . . . .

I must agree with Anissa. A coupon 'overage' is allowed and accepted by DeCA, subject to the following:
- Coupons have to be scanned after all other items are scanned - coupons are scanned last.
- No 'overage' will be allowed if your final total, before surcharge, is 'negative' or results in a 'cash back' situation. (In such a case, grab a 'Rag Mag' that usually sits there and buy one, or 2, to cover that amount.)
- 'Older' Commissary computer scan systems may reject any coupon that exceeds the amount of the purchase registered in your current check-out. (This is determined by the 'older' local computer system and NOT by the cashier, and usually sounds a loub 'Beep'. If this happens ask him/her to override it. If she/he will not, ask for the Manager and - 'See Below'.)
- Some Commissary's still require (rare) that coupons be scanned immediately after the item is scanned. This is Wrong. Coupons get scanned last, after all other purchases.

Refusal to accept a Coupon more than the purchase price: I.E.: If you have a Dove Hair coupon that says "$2.00 off any Dove" hair product (I just used one) and it is on sale for $1.99 . . . Politely and Patiently point out the coupon amount is for '. . any Dove' and does not limit it by price paid. Politely and Patiently remind them that DeCA does not limit coupons by price paid but by the face value of the coupon (subject to printed limitations - 'Not to Exceed', etc.). If they refuse, get the names and let them know you will contact DeCa for their determination.

This not only applies to DeCA Commissary's. It applies everywhere. With what we have all learned on AFC, and from each other, maybe we can, just a little, change the world of couponing. Stand Your Ground if what you are doing is right.
