Do you have a lot of books? My husband is a very avid reader and has tons of books. He buys them from a used called Half Priced Books, and after a while, he brings in a bag to sell back to them. He has gotten between $10 and $20 for a bag of books, and they pay cash. I checked their website and they have two locations in Indianapolis, but I don't know how far that is from you. Is there any way you can have a yard sale where you live? You could sell your stockpile ![]()

half priced books--- I think they even buy your CDs and computer games. My DH just brought an "opened" computer game from them for $5.

I took my own advice and went to Half-Price Books today. We turned in about 15 books and close to 30 CDs (they have been sitting in our game room and haven't been listened to in years - dh has tons of CDs). Anyway, they gave us $48 cash!! We were so happy - we thought that $20 would be good. We went to lunch at the Olive Garden (I am staying in tomorrow), and used some of that $ to pay for it If you have one of these stores in your town, check them out ![]()

Sell plasma? My cousin did it all through college. Don't know what it pays. How much cash do you need to earn fast? (rough estimate?) That will give all of us an idea of legitimate options. Return some things you haven't used and don't need to the store? Umm, here there are local online garage sale groups through yahoo (kinda like freecycle but you sell your things) or list things on craigslist.

How about face painting? I haven't done this in years but a friend of mine does it everyweekend at our local farmers market and at sporting events. She also does birthday parties and does pretty well. You don't have to be really crafty, she has a notebook where she paints her examples and you can start out simple. (use apple barrel or other craft paint, add a little glycerine (get both at Walmart with overage if you can) She charges $45 for and hour and a half. When I did it I tried to do things that were in the birthday party theme, would paint 4 choices on my hand and the kids could pick from that. I would bring a small TV tray, my supplies, sometimes I dressed up (I had a huge princess skirt and a tiarra, or a cowgirl outfit, clown type, gypsy, Pocahantas, all things you can find at a thrift store or possibly in your closet). It is great fun and really easy. I also make favor bags for birthday parties, you can do that at home and deliver. Another friend makes personalized cookies for parties, just made a bunch in the shape of Mississippi for a Mom for a class project. (studying the States in school, anyone?) Are you organized? I have another friend that will go to your home and help you get organized...She charges by the 1/2 day. Will come and organize whatever, or just help working with you, your linen closet, bathroom closet, pantry, kitchen, you name it. She charges $25/hour and stays as busy as she wants to. Advertise with a flyer in upscale neighborhoods, try the Mothers Day Out program at your local church for referrals. How about errand girl? We have several of those in town, you charge by the hour to run to the store, pick up dry cleaning, pick up items at the bakery, deliver things to offices for busy working moms, you name it.
