Meijer has loads of toys on clearance right now. I found quite a few board games at 75% off. Most of the other items ranged 30-50% off.

At the store near me in MI it's all still 25 percent and the tags said 6/12 so it's been there for 2 weeks. I'm hoping for further reductions happen soon because about half of the toy department was on clearance!

I have noticed the same thing... ever since Christmas my store has had a lot of clearance on toys. I wonder if they WAY over bought and are just trying to reduce inventory levels.

I buy almost all the kids toys 2nd hand so even @ 50% off clearance prices, stuff still seems quite expensive. Also todays toys are so often, just plastic junk that has missing pieces or is broken after a few weeks just not worth any money at all. I would rather buy 2nd hand durable stuff for a few bucks. I buy the occasional gift but that is about it.

Anyone know when Meijer does further markdowns on their toy clearance? It has been over a month since the initial markdowns and I haven't seen any further price drops....

I JUST asked an toy dept. employee this very thing! She said they do the switch out to Christmas toy stock in September, so to look for major markdowns mid-end August. (for most Meijer stores) Not very specific, but gave me a good time frame.

I was at the flagship store in Cascade, MI.

** FWIW: she said this particular store does things a little differently (as in, they clearance faster and sooner than other stores because of their flagship status. They will do major clearance earlier in August, like in two weeks or so.**

Quite a bit is already 75% off and picked over at my store. There are some items 50% but not a whole lot.

Edit to mention I have friends up near Petoskey. and I grew up closer to that side of the state than I am now. {hugs} to the northerners!
