Hopefully all of you have taken the time to participate in the What do you shop at Meijer for Poll! If not, please take the time to do so. (At this time the poll is closed...thank you for participating in it!) iluvadoption and I are wanting your insight regarding the weekly ad match-ups that we do every week here for you. No they are not going away because we know that you benefit from our work. However, we need to know do you benefit from us typing up the whole ad every week? Do you need us to type the whole ad up every week? If we started to type up just those items that were involved in the promos, like the 8/$8 Kraft sale this week(4/22), and the items that had active coupons to match them would those match-ups be of more benefit to you than a long list of the whole ad typed up? We value your opinion! Thank you for bearing with us as we have made changes in the forum! I know that change is difficult to deal with but iluvadoption and I are working to find a balance between the forum and our IRL. We love the forum and enjoy bringing you the match-ups every week but need to make sure that our work is not all in vain.

In addition to what grmom25kids has already outlined, I'd like to specifically ask if you benefit from having the entire Produce and Meat ad typed up? I'd like to reiterate that we will always include items that are part of a promo, or that have a coupon matchup. Input?

I know there was a survey, but wanted to add that I only care about the matchups. I can look at the ad to see what is on sale.... Thanks for doing it. I did matchups in the system for a few months and it is a LOT of work!

First thank you for all your hardwork!! It is very much appreciated you should know! Everyweek I look at the ad online or in the newspaper myself so I can see everything that is on sale. I use AFC to look at what sale items or promos match up to coupons, or what MMBQ's matchup or if there are any OYNO deals. So IMO it is most beneficial to me that we just have the coupon matchups posted or Good Deal Alerts. I liked that thread. Save yourself some time that way! I can only imagine that it takes a lot of time to post the whole ad! Plus many memebers post their finds and match ups to help others too! I hope this helps! Thanks again for all you do! Jennie

![]() I also like the contests that we often have! Maybe with less attention to the ad we could have more of those! If you ever need any help just let me know! I am also willing to! Thanks again!

I am mostly interested in the match-ups as well. Although I will say that I have somehow missed things in the ad, and seen them here. Maybe it's more linear for me or something. Still, I would like you both to do whatever is best and easiest. I'm sure it would be some load off your shoulders to just type up the GDA's and coupon match-ups each week. Thank you both for all you do here! I really appreciate it!

Yes - thank you both for all you do for this forum - it is my favorite on a full cup. I would like to see the best deals of the week posted whether that is coupon match ups, or just great deals ( like $1 bags of potatoes). And as pp mentioned, other posters can post deals they find and that can be added to the original post. The Walgreens forum had a thread called " Freebies and Cheapies" each week - maybe we could do something like that on this forum. Again, thank you for all you do.

I appreciate all that both of you do and I know it's got to be a ton of work. I can read the paper ad :-) but sometimes, I do miss some of the GDAs :-( as prev poster mentioned, so I would like those and the match-ups to continue. I like the idea about freebies and cheapies, too. And, I appreciate when a "heads up" is posted about a special one/two day sale coming up. Sometimes, those small flyers miss our paper. Thanks again!

This is a hard question to answer since my situation is a little different. Since I have lived here for less than a year I still feel like I'm trying to learn meijer and then they want to go and change it all on me! I just want all the really good deals and that's hard because different families like different things. I still like to know the produce that's a good price, but I know they can vary by location (cabbage anyone?) so how about just a few mentions like: cantaloupe, strawberries, dole salad and whateverelse asfastasyoucan without prices. Make sense? I usually get my meat on markdown at target. It seems to work well for me so I don't usually pay much attention to anything other than lunchmeat. Items that are not food I only pay attention if they are very, very cheap or MM. Thanks for everything you do type up. It is very nice for me with my hotspot (data usage!!) internet. |

Thanks for all the work you put into this forum. It is so helpful. I think the matchups and a good deal thread for markdowns or sales that are cheap even without a coupon are what I prefer.

You both save us all a lot of work....this if my most visited forum on AFC! I agree with everyone else on the match ups and good deals. I look at the ad as well to find deals that are good for our household.

I like both but pay more attention to the match up's I do however have to admit as others said I have on multiple occasions missed something in the ad and wouldn't have caught it without seeing the list on the site. I ALWAY look at the produce part of the list first as that is a HUGE HUGE percentage always of our overall grocery trip. I haven't yet taken the survey so will go do that if I can find it.

I looked but apparently the poll is already closed. I am SO SO appreciative to all the hard work the forum leaders do for this site as they have likely saved me 1000's of dollars over the years. Having said that I think this type of question is almost impossible to answer and make everyone happy. I think one thing you could do is spin some of the topics off to others that are super specialized. For example: vitamins/drug items and pet food and baby items... those 3 things are pretty much on sale every week in some form or other but their over all group appeal is likely lower ... so see if you can get 1 or two people that just manage a building thread that gets cleared out every few weeks with running lists of those 3 focus areas

Another thing I have noticed is that couponers in general tend to kind of have groupings : the really extreme people that spend a LOT of time each week building their lists/stock piles and tend to have low oop overall and often donate; those people that are new to couponing and really starting to build their stock piles and the concept of stockpiling; and those that have been couponing for several years but aren't really hard core and just try to take a good chunk of money out of their weekly bill. So another weekly thread could be called something like This weeks stock pile choices: that would attract the extremers and the newbies ( IN GENERAL!!... I know we ALL also use/buy these items but once you have a stockpile much less so) ( toothpaste, deo, candles, juice boxes,... or some of them... crackers, cookies, pop tarts, etc. ) and then have all the other more main stream i.e. weekly/ monthly buys : meat, dairy and produce in the main thread for each week. I know it would be a pain to look in multiple threads for some but it would likely cut down on the workload for those building the lists as there would be more people over all but with less responsibility in size/scope.

I love the match-up with the MMB & Mperks coupons that have manufacture coupons and/or cat deals. I tend to buy meat and produce from a local store and only purchase it if it's a need or great price at meijer. I also like the good deals / what your buying this week thread. I never would have purchased pantene from meijer last week if it was not for AFC. Thank you ladies for all your hard work. The Meijer Forum is the Best!

I come here to find match-ups. When the whole ad is typed out, I just skim it fast to see if there's any sale+coupon items that appeal for our family. I also never make it to AFC BEFORE the ad preview is live, so I usually browse the ad first, then come here. Before Meijer had the ad preview, I LOVED the typed out ad here. Now, it's not as important.

Ok, I must admit: I'm one of those people who still don't have a fancy phone! LOL My phone doesn't have Java or any of those other technologies in it; I cannot actually look at an ad on my phone. AFC looks a bit different on my browser, but I CAN actually open it and comment. I kinda like that I can click on my phone and see what next weeks ad looks like by opening a post on AFC. It's also convenient if I'm in a store to have the Meijer prices for the week listed in one linear fashion that I can easily open and read. (after all, 90% of my AFC time I'm on the meijer forum because meijer just rocks!) I understand if it gets monotenous to keep typing the entire ad every week (especially when so many could so easily open the ad and look for themselves) BUT I just wanted to say that you ARE appreciated! And if you stop typing the entire ad, I totally understand.... I'll just have to turn on my ol' antiquated desktop! LOL
