I actually might shop at Meijer this week after taking TWO whole weeks off of deal shopping. I am also wavering back and forth as to get the B/S chicken breast from Meijer or get it from Family Fare(local Spartan store) which has it for a penny more a pound but their meat is usually more fresh than Meijer. hummmmmm Well at any rate my list this week looks like this... B/S chicken yogurt 3lb bags of carrots vitamins (using Mperks and MQs) tilapia tombstone pizza (I have a $1/3 IP that expires 1/10 that ran last month at coupons.com) OreIda Potatoes and depending if I have anything left in my budget, I will get... speedstick deodorant evaporated milk cheetos Head & Shoulders shampoo Special K protein bars

I was so excited at the prospect of buying a pork loin, as I have never cooked that cut of meat before. Once I got to the meat aisle and looked at the enormous display of loins, it dawned on me that I had NO idea what a good cut looked liked! ! ! !This kindly older woman took pity on me and educated me and helped me to select the best loin for my family size. Now if I could only figure out the best way to cook it in the oven. It is to big for my crockpot. It wasn't a good coupon week for me as a lot of the items on my list didn't match up with the sale or the current coupons. I did okay though. |

i cut my pork loin in half and put it in the crock pot for pulled pork, a little water, minced garlic and cut up onion and let it cook all day, it just falls apart. The day after i will recook that on the stove with some taco seasoning then put that on tortilla chips in the oven with some cheese for pork nachos YUMMY also hand cut for thick pork chops

If it doesn't fit in your crockpot it is okay to cut it in half so you have two small roasts/loins to work with. I usually do it three different ways that makes it sooo yummy. First way is with one envelope of onion soup mix that is mixed with a can of creamy chicken soup spread over the top of the loin and cooked in the crock for 4 hours. If I cut the loin in half then I put part of the mixture on one part and then stick the other half in on top of the other and then more mixture...basically layer meat & mixture. Second way is slicing the pork loin into chops and making up this saucy mixture of a recipe. Third way is a small bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's Honey BBQ Sauce and one pork loin and 1/2 BBQ bottle of water. Put porkloin in crockpot. Pour BBQ sauce over top and then rinse out bottle with water and pour it over the pork loin. Let simmer all day....should be able to pull pork apart after 2 hours of cooking. A word of caution...if you do pulled BBQ pork or any pulled pork recipe be ready for LOTS of meat! It freezes well though. I was noticing too that coupons were at a minimum this week. Hence my short list.

[quote=msattforsavings;4502731]Does that mean it's not a valid coupon? That's scary. I was told sometimes it means they just havent added it yet. After I told them it was a bricks coupon they ok it ! |
