Meijer ad-different prices

So, this week the shopping list has Kraft Miracle Whip for 1.59. My ad in Battle Creek MI is 1.99. I have to say that I'm not surprised, but disappointed. Not only are there less things in there, but now they are different based on region

Ad preview is not working for my region either (Flint) - It seems like all the things I see on the preview that I want are not the same price in our region. I was really hoping this week would be better than the last couple but I was wrong. I really hope meijers relizes quickly that they are loosing customers - with this weeks ad I really have no reason to enter the store. And I am sure alot of other people feel the same way.

That happened to me a few weeks ago with the Meijer cheese. The ad preview said shredded and blocks were going to be on sale for $.99. I even told an elderly lady who was buying a bunch of much more expensive cheese on the Saturday before that the Meijer brand was going to be on sale starting the next day for $.99. She promptly put it back and thanked me. Then the ad came and it was $1.39 for shredded and no sale on the blocks. I felt terrible!

Our region (Grand Rapids, MI) hasn't changed our ad at all from what I can tell.

Try living in between three different marketing regions- I live between Lansing & Grand Rapids, with the closest store being Ionia, which has a different ad then the other two. It really depends on which direction I happen to be heading for my shopping what my prices will end up being.

For this week, I've noticed 10# locally grown (which usually means Michigan grown) potatoes are $1.69 in GR & $1.99 in Lansing. Campbell's tomato or chicken noodle soup is 58cents in GR, 59c in Ionia & Lansing- 1cent difference, why bother?!? Red Star yeast is 89c in Ionia but 99c in GR & Lansing. Manwich is 89c in Ionia, $1 in GR, and 99c in Lansing. Kraft salad dressing is $1.58 in Ionia, $1.69 in GR & Lansing; Miracle Whip is $1.99 across the board. Guess I won't be stopping at Meijer this afternoon when I head into Lansing to hit up Kroger for its sales from last week.... I think we get the better prices in general at the Ionia location because its right next to the first SuperWalmart that opened in the west Michigan area a few years ago, which Meijer countered by building a new Super-Sized Meijer to replace our very tiny & outdated old Meijer.

For those not familiar with the area, the furthest west Meijer in Lansing is only about 40 miles from the furthest east Grand Rapids store, with the Ionia store landing between. Its no wonder I get so confused when it comes to Meijer ads... at least they switched Lansing to start ads on Sunday instead of Monday- they really confused me when I first moved here.

My apologies, everyone! I've been entering the Meijer ad and posting the preview based on my Metro Detroit Meijer ad, which arrives on Friday morning.

Maybe it would be better if someone else wanted to enter it for the shopping list, since my prices don't seem to be valid anywhere else...

Is anyone interested in becoming a Shopping List Assistant and doing that? Please?

I like having a chance to see what is going to be on sale, even if the prices are different. Like my other post in this thread shows, Meijer varies their prices a lot even within a fairly small area. Its not your list anyone has a problem with, its Meijer's pricing policies from store to store.

Yeah, we had the same thing with the cheese. It wouldn't be a big deal if their online ads were working so I could check them! Our were $1.49 a bag!! I got a better deal with Qs and OYNO last week with the Kraft shredded cheese

Don't apologize! you're doing us a great service and helping immensely. Just a bit frustrating that a company that only operates in the midwest has that many different prices across their different ads! seriously, it isn't like Florida to California to Michigan!

We're in central Illinois.

I have to be honest ... I scroll through the list that is posted on here to get an idea of the sales on Fridays and for Q match-up's I missed but besides that I don't routinely used the list in fact when I read jonona's post I had to stop and ask myself if there WERE prices on the AFC list... I just have always used the online grocery list on the actual Meijer's site and as it pulls by specific store I always know what my store prices are... in fact I wish with all their price savings measures to go against walmart .. that Meijer would just give up on including their ads in the newspaper... besides us hard core couponers that get the Sunday paper for the Q's there is such a tiny portion of the population that actually gets a newspaper delivered in today's tech world I can't believe it's cost effective any longer for them to produce that paper ad.

Edited to add: I don't want it to sound like I don't appreciate the hard work ... I do ... and the list is helpful to see Q match-up's you missed.

michariella, I do the same thing, just the list and confirm with our ad. But their website has been broken for awhile and the ads don't work Hence the additional surprises when I get to the store

Not sure if I am following but perhaps you are in the wrong mode... there is a slower non-flash mode and a faster mode... it gives you the option to choose I think towards the upper right side of the screen... mine loads so incredibly slowly if I am on the "faster" choice mine looks "broken" as well and doesn't appear to load... this started several weeks ago when they appear to have reprogramed the site. So I am thinking you just need to switch to the slower ( dial up type option)

They appear to have finally fixed it. I emailed them early last week and they knew it wasn't working in Firefox but thought they had it working in IE which it wasn't. They finally have the new format up and it is working now. Yeah

I have no problems with the Meijer ads in using Firefox- I switch between Grand Rapids & Lansing all the time, comparing prices with print copy of the Ionia store flyer. I haven't tried it in IE, so I don't know if it works differently there or not.
