Between my major grocery stores (Meijer, Giant Eagle and Kroger), I won't pay more than .25 per box, unless it's one that I have to have. I'm addicted to Chocolate Chex and Golden Grahams, so I'll pay up to 1.00 for those.

My stores only double up to .50 cents. I have gotten cereal for free at a few stores before, but at Meijer specifically, the lowest price I have ever paid for cereal is 80 cents.

I do not pay more than 1.00, but we only buy cereal that we really like, cuz we eat lots of other stuff for breakfast. But kelloggs was on sale recently at Meijer and I think I was getting it for .70 to .80 a box.

yeah, I've paid .40 before AND just got TOTAL for free last week, but not at Meijers, cause they only double to a dollar, the best is to find a store that doubles 1.00 and then you can really get it cheap if they put it on sale, Meijers I think I've paid between .80 and 1.00...good luck |

I usually pay anywhere from $0-$1.50, but only pay more than $1.00 if it's something I REALLY like or if we're completely out of cereal and I can't find any better deals. I got paid to buy Kix about 6 months ago and we're still eating it ![]() FYI- The only store that doubles around here is a small local store, and even that is only up to $.50 and the store never has better prices than Meijer, so it's a wash. Oh how I wish we had stores that doubled!!! |

I'm spoiled here... Meijer, Giant Eagle and Kroger all double up to .99 everyday. Cereal deals come by frequently making it easier to keep costs down. It's a lot of figuring with the coupons, promotions, incentives and rebates... but soooo worth it. The best deals to be had at Meijer are when there are catalina oyno (off your next order) deals going on. Match the deal with double coupons and I have about 50 boxes of cereal in the stockpile (many of which will be donated). |

I think the lowest I have paid for cereal is .66... but on average I pay around $1. But I will pay $1.50 for my favorites if we're out of them.

The lowest I've "paid" for cereal is FREE, but not at Meijer. $0.50/box is my cost limit for cereals generally, and I'll pay up to $1.00 for the large boxes.

It was a couple of months ago. Kelloggs had coupons out $1 off 1 box of cereal and they had it on sale for about $1.80. They were the medium sized boxes of raisin bran, fruit loops, frosted mini wheats, etc. I haven't ever been able to get general mills cereal for less than 1.25 at meijer. |

![]() $1 is my max for most cereals, but I can generally get it for around $.75 at Meijer most of the time. I wait for a good sale and use my high value Qs (like the $.75/1 and $1/1). If you can get in on an OYNO catalina promo or have some Mealbox Qs to stack--it can be less than $1 a box. I don't think I've gotten any at Meijer for less than $.50 though (maybe once or twice in the last few years). Most of the good deals wind up being for Kellogg's brand, it seems. Kellogg's has been putting out some good Qs lately ($2/2 and $1/1) and General Mills has had some cruddy ones! ($1/2 or $1/3) Just keep checking the Meijer forum here at AFC--we'll help you get your pantry filled!

I usually pay $0-$1. I just paid 24¢ a box for General Mills last week at Kroger. Most of the time at Meijer I spend around 75¢-$1. My store only doubles up to 50¢. When they are a great low price, I usually stock up.

I usually won't pay over $1.00 for a box. Unless we are totally out of cereal and it is a flavor that we really, really like. Then I might spring $1.50, but never over that. We go through a ton of cereal here, and there aren't many flavors that my family won't eat. |

I won't pay over 1.50 and that's only if we are running low and DH just has to have his Raisin bran... I routinely try not to pay more than 0.75/box my Meijer's does not double but I have still gotten cereal free ( the kellog's rebate from fuel for school for example a few weeks ago matched with sales and Q's) and last week I got tons of special K for .50 a box plus the $10 off your jeans mail in cutout's for the rebate from the box... and the boxes counted towards the buy and $10 worth off a backpack and I found a $11 backpack for DD. All in all not a bad deal.... free cereal is pretty easy to come by in the midwest with Battle Creek,MI being the cereal city and all. If you get some of the higher end IP's, and match it with some cats's and the combo deals along with sales you can really rake it in. Usually I have found August is THE month to stock up on cereal because everyone is running back to school combo's... I have bought maybe 30-40 boxes of cereal in the last month, I gave some away but the rest we will eat on for months... in the dead of winter we tend to eat oatmeal so the cereal will last us well through the spring.

Specifically at Meijer... I ended up having them pay me to take home Kelloggs cereal. It was during the catalina promotion "buy so many and get two free movie tickets" promo a few months ago. I paid round about $0.99 out of pocket but then received 6 sets of movie tickets at $16 per pair (for our theaters) = $96 back in movie tickets. When all was said and done I ended up profiting $36 on that 60 boxes of cereal. That is the only time this year that I will buy Kelloggs... I won't buy again until next year's $1/1 come out. I gave away my Fuel for School q's and am using the rebates on Pop Tarts instead. Now General Mills we go through a LOT faster. I am willing to pay up to $1.25 / box for Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Reese Puffs, Lucky Charms, Cocoa Puffs, and Trix because my kids eat those dry as well as in milk so we go through them twice as fast as others. The other stuff... unless its FREE and I can donate it... i won't get it because we just don't eat it. I get rice crispies to make treats with and chex for chex mix and that is it.
