peelie problem?

recently i've noticed that peelies state "not valid unless removed by cashier". but at meijer, cashiers are too busy to be scrutinizing every item for them, so i peel. every once a while i get a cashier that is a stickler for rules. has anyone talked to any managers about this?

I noticed that the other day also. However, I often go to the self checkout lanes so I guess I AM the cashier

My other issue with this is that many times the cashier does not pull the coupons from the packages. I like to have all my coupons in my hot little hand ready to hand the cashier rather than try to remind the cashier as I go that they need to pull a peelie off.

Wow! Never noticed that, and yes, I peel all of mine. I suppose they (manufacturer) want to ensure that the person peeling the coupon is the purchaser, and not an opportunist grabbing peelies off packages...Okay, I confess, I may have done that once or twice. Only when I can't help myself, though. I try to be honest, really!

Usually, I don't peel the ones that say "must be removed by the cashier". I put them in the front of my order and ask the cashier to remove it before any scanning begins. As far as the majority of peelies go, I don't have any problems with taking a few. In my mind, I'm going to be purchasing that product eventually (and chances are the ones with peelies will be gone by the time I buy them). I just hate to waste a coupon, even a peelie, when I can wait for the item to go on sale. Then I'll whip out my "hot" little peelies and use them on the products in which they were originally attached.

I actually passed up some peelies last night. I would have like to have taken them, but resisted the temptation. So, what's the popular opinion? Take them or not?
