I went to Meijer on Sat to buy 4 capri sun's to get the onyo deal they had. well, I hadthe q's for $2 off wyb capri sun and chips ahoy. So I used 4 of the q's and for some reason they auto adjusted to the price of the chips ahoy cookies, so I asked the cashier if I could take the q's to CS to get them adjusted back to $2 (since the q is for both items and not just one.. and they were clearly more than $2 combined). So I get to CS and she told me taht the coupon policy says that they are only able to take 3 like q's per transaction!

I then poliely say "well, I was not aware of this policy, and if I could please see it in writing I would appreciate it because i have never heard this before and would know next time.

She then states that she does not have the policy or even know where it is but "that is the rule that they tell them."

If this is the policy then why did the register allow me to use all 4 of my q's and 6 of another q??


UPDATE****

I just got off the phone with Corporate and a Head manager at Meijer named Darcy. They both said that the only coupon they limit is how many they double! So, if anyone has any problems at the Meijer on Illinois Rd you can ask for her.

Because today I went and had to deal with the same cashier about my mealbox q's! She said I could only use 1. Which corporate has stated that we can use as many as we like.

My store is 5 like q's of anykind. They only double 2 like.

I think it might be different at each store.... I've never had anyone tell me that there was a limit on like coupons except when doubling is involved... they will only double 2 like coupons per transaction, but if you use more than that it will still take of face value of the coupon it just won't double... but you can use as many as you want as far as I know.. Just used 4 $1/1 Lysol coupons in one transaction today... but that's just my store... but the fact that the register took them without beeping makes me think she was just one of those cashiers that doesn't understand coupons and thinks her store is losing money on them or something... I can understand why they limit doubling because they do cover that... but I don't see why they would limit non-doubling coupons because they will get the whole amount back...

oh when posting that I didn't realize it was you that posted this Meri... do you go to the Meijer on Illinois Rd? I've never had a problem there, except for one old lady cashier that twice has refused to adjust a coupon down and wouldn't let me use it at all... but both times it was early in the morning around 7 or 8 am... so I just don't go that early anymore . All the other cashiers adjust them, and some have even allowed the overage, but not this one lady.. so I avoid her... I've never had anyone tell me there was a limit there before...

my meijer limits how many can double but i can use as many as i want in one transaction. however, if i try to do a deal like yours, they say NOPE! they wont give cash back and will adjust the coupon so it doesnt make a credit.

I've been to Meijer a few times in the past few days and I've definitely used more than 3 Qs on a transaction every time. I think we just asked Meijer a few weeks ago and they told us 5 like Qs (which still doesn't make sense, but oh well). I think they're just being ridiculous now.
I know just yesterday I bought 10 lysol wipes in one transaction and had no problem. I did the self checkout though so that may have been the reason.
I'm sorry to hear that you had a rough time at Meijer.

Yep it's me.. and yes that was the Meijer. I hardly ever have any problems with the cashier's either and the cashier I had this time, loved the fact that I used q's!! She kept telling me that every little bit helps and made sure she rang them all up.

I forgot to mention that I did get the rest of the 4 q's off in th end. But she told me she was going to talk to my cashier and made sure to look and see which cashier it was.

I am from Fort Wayne also but I shop the Meijer at St. Rd. 37 usually. I have never been told that they limit the actual number of like coupons but of course only two coupons will double. I dont usually use more than 10 alike at a time. I usually have better luck with my coupons at the self scan also. I check every couple months at the CS and see if anything has changed. Hopefully you will not run into this problem again. Good Luck Misti

Every time I go to Meijer's (which isn't often), I get overcharged somehow....just the other day, I had 2 Aunt Millie's bread Q's and 2 Aunt Millie's buns Q's....we have limit of 2 like Q's to double.....only 2 doubled, 2 did not....I asked why...."some company" was my answer.....I think they just make up rules as they go....I think I'll stick to Kroger.

I went earlier today to get some more lysol wipe too, but they were all out... I figured that would be the case though since I bought 6 yesterday and there was only about 4-6 left after that... but I've noticed that usually things are restocked when I go on Thursdays... but I had to go today also since I wanted to use some qs for something else that expire today... forgot to get them yesterday... but just wanted to let you know that if you haven't gone yet and are going just for the wipes you might want to wait and try Thursday... don't want you to waste a trip!

, i think i know exactly which lady you guys are talking about early in the morning. she is the ONLY person in that whole store that ever gives me a hard time with my q's.
the other day she nearly had a melt down b/c i did the nabisco deal with the hanes socks and used coupons. she said that wasn't fair to get the socks and be able to use q's so she called the mgr over who patiently told her it was fine. then she called her back a few seconds later b/c i used me free ricecrispie coupons for vocal point on coco crispies. the manager and i both pointed out that it said any flavor and she stilll didin't want to take it.

the older lady with white/blond hair? yep usually there in the morning... twice I saw her around 7-9 am... then today she was there when I went at 11am... I don't see her when I go around 3-4pm or later... so probably the same lady... so I'm going to just try to stick with going later to avoid her But now that my boyfriend has had his license suspended I've been having to get up earlier to take him to work... so I want to go early sometimes.. but probably wont anymore because of her... or I'll just go to a regular cashier... because she's always at the self checkout. I've never heard of any type of policy like that. I just know that they will only double 2 like coupons.

SOOOO glad I don't have problems at my Meijer! That's usually one of the few places that don't give me a hard time about coupons...probably because I use the self check out 99% of the time.

That is too funny!!! I am not sure if she was the lady I dealt with at CS... but it was later in the afternoon on Sat. I NEVER go shopping that early!

BTW~ I did not make it Meijer today I was to busy trying to get wipes!

People have had trouble with Aunt Millie's coupons in the past. IIRC, the bar codes are the same on the bread and bun coupons, so you have to split up your transactions when using those.

this is to funny. I think it was the same lady that I ran into to! I don't live in fort wayne but I went there after coming to see my mom. I was trying to get dog food, peanut butter, bread and a couple of other things and my coupon beeped. She came over and got really snippy with me about having so many coupons. She says "this store only allows 3 like coupons in one transaction" I told her that I was sorry but since I was from out of town I didn't know what the coupon policy was. She let me use all of what I had in my hand but was really mad about it. I got out of there and went down the road to a different meijer. That store was AWESOME! I ended up locking up the register because I had so many coupons! They took care of it though and I was able to get out of there using all of my coupons.

Maybe she is just mad because she can't figure out the whole couponing thing to save money herself.....some people just can't be happy for the money others save..some people refer to them as "haters"..., but then again i would be a mad hateful person too if I couldn't "get" the whole couponing thing and threw money away while watching others save!

I'm in FW and I go to the IL Rd location a lot as well! I think I know just what cashier you're talking about. Funny thing, I've had them tell me that but ONLY in the self-checkout's by the produce. Weird, huh? I used 8 or so of the Lysol Neutra Air q's at IL Rd MJ a few days ago and this cashier (goofy guy in his late teens or early 20's) let me use as many as I wanted. He was so goofy that he even asked me if I planned on using a lot of Lysol, ha ha. What a sense of humor.

I also had a cashier at IL Rd MJ tell me one time that I couldn't use a catalina that was printed at Kroger even though it was a MFR coupon!!! I politely challenged her until she finally went and asked someone else. She came back to tell me that it was fine and they'd just take it! Ugh. She was trying to convince me that recently the managers have told them that MJ could not get reimbursed for a coupon if it was from another store... even though it was a MFR coupon!! I just wasn't taking that for an answer. Glad I didn't. I haven't had that problem since.

The Ft Wayne stores double Mfr coupons .

It is only up to the .50 coupons, and only 2 of each of the same coupons.

Unfortunately, not all Meijers double coupons. The ones in Western MI closest to the home office don't for whatever reason. The ones here in SE MI double to $0.50.

Does your Meijer price match on anything in the store? The stores in this area only price match general merchandise. They used to price match groceries, but haven't in quite some time.
