Ok...the boys and I were on a perennial shopping spree to use up my $5.00 flower winetags before they expire on Friday and in the garden center area they had a bunch of yard stuff on clearance. I spotted a smoker that had been $150 marked to $10. I didn't buy it because DH will have a fit if we have to have anything else in the garage but I am toying with the idea of going back. I have no idea if we need it though...any suggestions on how you use it? Is this the deal of the century ...and will I kick myself if I skip it. I do like to cook but have never thought to smoke anything.

Yes it is a great deal. Do we use the one I bought for my DH for deer hunting....Nope!

Get it and sell it along w/ all the excess stuff in the garage at a yard sale... or consign it at the local thrift store. I bet it would be worth your while. Heck, I'd buy it from you if I could.

Everytime DH BBQ's he uses his smoker that we got him last year and let me tell you after haveing BBQ on a smoker and on a grill with charcoal you wont want to go back to the old grill and charcoal. I definately say get it.

Here is what DH does. He only burns Hickory dont ask me why he says it gives it a better flavor. And before he starts his fire he always wets his wood down so that it doesnt get so hot. You put your wood in the section called the fire box. Put your food in the section where the racks are and let it cook away. Simple enough, LOL. It taste great we cook everything on there, LOL!!!

We used to have one that we used until it rusted out...ribs on the smoker are so much better than the grill...have a book of recipes, but smokers are wonderful
