I realize there is a discussion thread with the Meijer coupon policy already listed but I went a step further here to find out what else Meijer offers. I hope this helps others who are new to or already shop at Meijer! (Please call your local Meijer to verify as I was told that coupon policies DO vary by store)

First I emailed customer service by finding a link on Meijer: Home Page. Here is the emailed response:

Coupon Policy
We accept manufacturer, Catalina manufacturer, Meijer, Catalina Meijer, and internet coupons within certain guidelines. For Meijer, with the Catalina Meijer coupons the customer will pay any applicable sales tax on the discounted price. When a manufacturer or Catalina vendor coupon is presented, the customer pays sales tax on the full retail amount; and we rebate only the value of the coupon. We do not issue rainchecks on out-of-stock vendor coupon items.
To be valid, coupons must be presented before or on the expiration date. The customer must meet with the terms or qualifications for redemption on the coupon.
If you have additional questions please, please feel free to stop at the Customer Service desk of your local Meijer store, and ask to speak with the Service Manager.

So, that's pretty much self-explanatory (and I'm way excited about the manufacturer's catalinas because now I can take my Walgreen's cats there! weee!) But, I wanted MORE So, I probed further with a phone call and here's what I learned:

Rewards Program
Meijer DOES offer a rewards program! You can read more about it here: Meijer: Meijer Community Rewards
You will receive 2 credit card sized cards and one keyring card to scan when you make purchases at Meijer. You can link this card to your uPromise account and also to a community program or group such as a church or a school. The community program you choose will receive a percentage of the amount you spend. The uPromise account will receive rewards based on participating items you purchase. Please see the Rewards link above for more detailed information

Price Matching
I was told by corporate that Meijer WILL price match advertised prices. In order to price match, you must bring the full, complete and current printed ad (so no bringing in just the one page of an ad or last week's ad). Item being price matched MUST be the EXACT item in the printed ad (name, size, etc). And, they will only price match general merchandise (not groceries).

Competitor's Coupons
Competitor coupons ARE accepted on general merchandise ONLY. Competitor coupons are not accepted on grocery items.
(I used the example of a Target coupon for $x.xx off a Gerber onesie clothing item... she confirmed that yes, they would accept that)

Double Coupons
I think this may be where the "your mileage may vary" comes in to play the most. My local Meijer will double coupons up to $.50. Any coupon over $.50 is redeemed at face value.

Thank you for posting this The only info I have the differs is on price matching. The stores in my area will only price match general merchandise items.

Thanks for pointing that out. I accidently omitted it in the post ... I had it all written up and accidently closed my window & had to rewrite it... didn't realize I had left it out on my 2nd write up! I've added it back in now... Our Meijer only price matches general merchandise as well.

My Meiejr's has recently price matched grocery items. No produce, deli, bogo, % off, etc. But grocery items have been matched at my area stores.

When it says certain internet coupons, do you know what that means?
and internet coupons within certain guidelines are the certain guidelines internet specific or the ones listed for coupons in general?

No, I'm not really sure what that means specifically. But, I've never had a problem using an IP there. I'm assuming they may put that in there to cover the "not more than 1 manf q per item" and other general things like that maybe?

I went to my local Meijer in Cadillac, MI and asked about doubling coupons and the cashier said that they don't do that- could this vary by store? I have shopped at Meijer for a long time but am just getting into big time using coupons so I was pretty bummed when she told me that. I didn't have time to talk to a manager but would it help to call customer service or corporate? I really don't want to miss out on doubling my coupons but I guess if they don't participate then there is not much I can do.

Unfortunately not all stores double. The stores where I live (Grand Rapids area) don't double at all either, and that goes for ALL stores in our area. It's a bummer- I could save so much more money if they did!

The cashier was saying something about the Meijer in Traverse City being a union store and that they might double them there. TC is about an hour away but I sometimes get up there to go to Target and other store if the deals are worth my trip. So maybe I'll try that, if not I'll just be jealous of the people who have a better meijer

In a short answer yes, as the Meijer Mealbox are Meijer Manufacturers Coupons. The coupons basically read that you can't combine them with another Meijer Manufacturers coupon. I've never had an issue with using both.

That's not what I was told today. I have never had trouble until today when I was buying the Dannon Crush Cups. I was told by the ladies at the U-Scan and Customer Service that it is a Meijer Manufacturers Coupon so you can't combine the two. Thankfully the woman at the U-Scan let me do it this time. It helps to have a cute kid with you.

I emailed Meijer to tell them I missed the doubling coupons and would they bring it back. This is the response they sent.

Meijer is focused on providing excellent value for its customers. As a result, we are shifting from the Double Coupon program to a more comprehensive Price Drop program.
We have already implemented significant price decreases in our Chicken and Cereal categories. Currently we are rolling out price reductions throughout our Health and Beauty Care
and Lunch Meat categories.
Meijer will continue to accept manufactures' coupons and the coupons will be redeemed for face value.
If you have additional questions, please feel free to stop at the Customer Service desk of your local Meijer store, and ask to speak with the Service Manager.

I haven't noticed the difference, but I don't buy a lot of cereal either. I don't like price drops becuase they eventually go back up in price!

The Battle Creek, MI Meijer will NOT accept competitor coupons except for general merchandise. I knew it was too good to be true!

Our Meijer used to match competitors grocery ads, unfortunately they stopped doing that. Really wish they would start again!

As far as coupons go, they still double coupons up to 50 cents. We can use a manufacturer's coupon along with a mealbox coupon on the same item. So I guess we are lucky there!!

Last evening I tried using the Breyer coupon for $1.50 off any Breyer product on the small Breyer ice creams for $l.00 and my Northville store said they were only good on the larger size. It was the last day to use them, so all was lost. I didn't have it in me for another mindless argument with people who don't know policy. Guess I will write to the corporate office and hope they educate their crews.

Have you ever tried to use a catalina at Meijer from any other store? I haven't tried it - but saw it in the policies on here and wondered if you had...

Hey Jenn! Yes, I used a KMart cat & a Kroger (I think it was) last night for $1.50 off Pampers wipes. The manager there told me he checked in to the Walgreens Register Rewards and was told they won't get reimbursed by the clearinghouse. I keep meaning to find the catalina companies phone number so I can give it to him to verify directly with them but I keep forgetting! He was actually hopeful that he'd get the okay to take them but the denial came from "higher up"

btw - I am surprised you recognized me from this photo! I've looked like such a bum the few times we ran in to each other!! LOL
