I'm not sure if it's something new or a YMMV situation... But my Grandma went to Marsh the other day and got a 5cent refund for using her own Marsh bag. I'm not sure if it has to be a Marsh reusuable bag or any, but thought I'd post anyways... If anybody has more info, feel free to let us know!

In Muncie, you get 5 cents off your bill for each bag you bring and use. However, YMMV because I go to the same store and dont always get it.

Last year I was told this by the cashier at Marsh. I went back a week later and mentioned the .5 cent for using a reusable bag the cashier looked totally confused.

The Marsh I go to has done this for a long time. They will take 5 cents off per bag you bring in to use, it can be any reusable bag from any store, or any paper bag, they will not take off for the plastic bags.

My Marsh has been doing this for some time and they do give 5 cents per bag reused. I use Kroger bags, Walmart, random canvas bags...I don't know if it is for plastic. I always use cloth bags. I do tell the cashier how many I have though as sometimes they don't give you enough credits (ie I have 10 bags, but only get credit for 8) I also will sometimes point out that one of my bags is the size of at least 2 other bags and sometimes I will get 10cents for that one instead of 5cents.

Lafayette, Indiana's Marsh will give you the 5c discount per paper or resuseable bag if you specifically ask to make sure. Cashiers are not generally trained there to know the code to key in. I know because I worked there last year. Of course, things may have changed.

Marsh stores in Anderson, IN give a .05 credit at the end of your bill for any reusuable bags you bring in. I get credit for my Marsh cloth bags as well as my 2 Trader Joe canvas bags. The cashier normally gives it to me, but sometimes they forget...Yesterday, I brought in 4 bags, but only bought enough to use 2 of them...so I only got the .05 credit for the 2 I used.
