Just to let everyone know, the Smithfield bacon is on sale for 2/$4.00 and there are 75cent off Q's in last Sunday's smart source for it. My lowes doubles all Q's up to 99 cents. Once doubled, this makes the bacon 50cents. I got 3, my kids love bacon.

c1cooper1- I need to try cooking it in the oven next time. That's how Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa) does it and I just love her!

I always cook bacon in the oven. It is much less mess and it does not shrink up. We love it that way!

I lay it on white bread (cheap) and that soaks up all the grease!! HTH...........

We started cooking it in the oven when we did Atkins for a few months in 2004...we got tired of breathing "bacon air" LOL

I just put it in my Pampered Chef bar pan, 375 for 25-30 minutes. I didn't have any issues with grease going all over, however, I am due for an oven cleaning so I wasn't really looking.

BTW-our Lowes was out of the regular Smithfield bacon today. I had to get the 25% less sodium one.

I bought 10 of these coupons on ebay and got them today. Of course when I went to Lowes tonight, they only had 4 packs left. But I noticed the regular shelf price on the bacon was not very high. I think it was 2.89 or something, so if triples happen soon, that could mean more cheap bacon!!
